She usually elevates whatever she is in. Lately, she's elevated a bunch of shitty films.

Outside of Girl Interupted I haven't been a fan of what I have seen her in.

Taking Lives was fantastic. Mr. & Mrs. Smith was solid, same with Wanted. Changeling was good, too.

We will probably never know...she's a celebrity now more than actress.

She has screen presence and looks and personality...and like a Pulp Fiction pig, bacon goes a long way.

That's acting nowadays.

She had to play herself though, she has to play her star power...that's her draw...her looks, star power, you have to know you are watching Jolie fully. She was pretty good in the Changeling but even then the audience was like, ah, that's just Jolie - in essence, it's difficult for her to disappear into a character as actors are supposed to do.

I could never see Jolie play Monster like Theron.

Mr and Mrs Smith was solid but was that her acting or was it just a fun solid script? I liked that movie but more so for Brad and Vince Vaughn. Honestly Jolie was ok but replaceable. Her best scene was an unreported domestic violence case.

Wanted I was no fan of but that wasn't her fault specifically. I usually love Morgan Freeman and I didn't care for him either in that one.

I heard good things about taking lives just never watched it.

I have a hard time coming up with an A-list actor or actress who acts mostly in serious or dramatic films that has a worse filmography than Jolie. She only has five live action movies with a Rotten Tomatoes score of 65% or higher. There are only five live action Jolie movies with an average IMDB rating of 7.0 or higher. That is a putrid track record.

Begins at a snail's pace... works its way up to a slow burn... Last 15 minutes are amazing.

She's a very good actress who's been in some good movies but a lot of shitty ones as well. Wanted is the last movie I walked out on. Hackers is a cult favorite of mine, though. We'll never be that cool again.

She should have won an Oscar for Hackers
