You don't Not give a character a last name unless it would reveal something later.
Name one other major character who had name information withheld with no reason.
You do that to set up a plot twist. We've seen in more than one SW movie. It's painfully obvious that that is what they'll do. Apparently

Yes, seems too stupid to be true.
Ren - Confirmed as Han & Leia's son Ben Solo gone Goth.
Rey - Probably Luke's daughter but not sure yet.
Finn - Probably a random storm trooper without force abilities but not sure yet.
It makes sense if Rey is a Skywalker and is Ren's cousin. Including Finn in as another legacy that randomly ends up with Rey is pushing it too far.

Maybe the fanboys have more faith than I do but with rumors about Billy Dee Williams reprising his role I'm thinking Finndo Calrissian is a definite possibility.
