SuperBroMovies was the first to spot an Amazon listing for a Star Wars: The Force Awakens 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle in a collectible tin. That in itself isn’t the exciting part (unless you really like jigsaw puzzles), but the image on the puzzle is of Finn (John Boyega) and the listing explicitly describes him as Lando Calrissian’s son. Lando, of course, was the former owner of the Millennium Falcon: a suave gambler and smuggler who eventually joined the Rebel Alliance. Calrissian was played by Billy Dee Williams, who has hinted that he may make an appearance in the new slate of Star Wars movies.

There is some weight to the idea that Finn could have a famous parent like Lando Calrissian. When asked why no last names had been revealed for Finn or Rey, director J.J. Abrams told Entertainment Weekly, “I will only say about that that it is completely intentional that their last names aren’t public record.” This air of mystery is typical of Abrams and was no doubt designed to inspire speculation about who Finn and Rey’s parents might be, but it does imply that Finn’s last name would be recognizable to Star Wars fans.

I called this in jest weeks ago. No clue they would actually be that lazy.

Seriously, the SW universe is apparently as incestuous and close knit as small town Mississippi.

Hopefully it isn't. Certainly in a whole galaxy full of trillions and maybe more of people there is more than a handful of talented families. It's ok to just introduce a new character.

And apparently completely illiterate. Seriously...the Jedi are a myth? Who is Luke Skywalker and Han Solo? Damn the Clone Wars were only like 50 years ago and they've already forgotten all the details.

A galaxy is a big fricking place. Also, I imagine there might have been some effort on the part of Vader and Sidious to wipe out the records of the Jedi.

It would be funny if they did the switcheroo and made Mace Windu his grandfather or something.

I called it in the theater. Sure, The Force Awakens is a huge improvement over the last three Star Wars movies but the plot is still amazingly lazy.

That Amazon thing came out months ago. Obviously they aren't saying what Rey's last name is because of her possibly being Luke's daughter. But with Finn his actual name is fn-2187 or whatever. They didn't want to release that because they were releasing footage with him holding a light saber and didn't want people to know he was actual storm trooper. That's just my thoughts.

Han Solo didn't believe in the force when he was clearly alive before the Jedi were wiped out.

In the movie everyone is clearly aware of both Luke and Han and the stories about the war.

Lazy storytelling from the SW universe? You mean like in the first movie where they didn't even change Luke's last name. Did Vader never even try googling people with his same last name?

I don't see what the big deal is. I'd rather him be the son of someone known in the star wars universe not some random black guy.
