Nicholas Cage
Owen Wilson
Jamie Foxx

I refuse to watch anything with these clowns in it. Especially Owen Wilson.....who couldn't act scared walking through mall city at 2am.

Owen Wilson isn't thought of as a Oscar worthy actor.

No you didn't.

While recently he's been doing blockbusters, you're completely forgetting about an amazing career before tony stark.
I give you:
- Game 6
- kiss kiss bang bang
- the singing detective
- wonder boys
- two girls and a guy
- wonder boys
- zodiac
- less than zero
- Chaplin

Now if you've watched all of the above movies and you still think that he "kind of sucks", then fair enough.

On a side note, I was really looking forwarded to him teaming up with pt Anderson in Inherent Vice. he had to back out of the role, and it was subsequently given to Joaquin Phoenix, who will do a fine job I have no doubt. But it would have been nice to see a departure from the big budget movies of late from RDJ.

As far as overrated I'd say George clooney, as an actor. I think he's really good but not Jesus the way a lot of critics praise him. I think his biggest strength is attaching himself to incredible source material. He is a very smart guy that chooses interesting roles, but in just about all of them I could see another actor playing the same part, and probably doing it better. With all of that said, I usually love the movies he's a part of.

I think one of the problems we're having is that some people are looking at the entire body of work an actor has done while others are looking at more recent work only. Case in point: RDJ. He was widely considered one of the best talents in acting during the 80s and 90s. Here and there in the 2000s, he'd pop up with a well turned role, but recently, he's done Tony Stark and Sherlock Holmes and that's it. His early critical praise is not unwarranted and it doesn't make him overrated now that he is doing major blockbusters instead.

The same is true of Johnny Depp. Dude should have won an Oscar for What's Eating Gilbert Grape (same with Leo), he was spectacular in Edward Scissorhands, Ed Wood, Fear and Loathing, Blow, even Finding Neverland. But people only see him now as Jack Sparrow or Native American Jack Sparrow (Tonto), despite an even more recent turn as Frank Tupelo in the Tourist which netted him a Golden Globe nod. This, of course, cuts both ways. I'm not certain that Golden Globe nod was well deserved, but he is not an overrated actor. He has pretty great range, though like many big name actors, the roles he's taking are limiting him.

It's kind of bullshite, too, you know? To name a few roles in the last decade he's taken and that no one really appreciates but demonstrate his range: Kemp in the Rum Diary, Rango, John Dillinger, Imaginarium Tony 1, Sweeney Todd, Rochester in the Libertine, J.M. Barrie in Finding Neverland...

None of those are even close to Jack Sparrow, but he can't shake himself of that image (doesn't help that he sort of emits Jack Sparrow in his personal life). So, really, it's ONE role that's limiting him.

I thought Robert Downey Jr is rated just fine. I would not let Iron man be the bases of judging his acting career at all. I don't even watch that shite, but I still enjoy his other work.

I hate to say it because I like him but Denzel can make case. It used to be a running joke but he does play the same character in most movies.

RDJ is a very good actor. If you can't see how fantastic he was in Tropic Thunder, Home for the Holidays, Less Than Zero, and Chaplin, as well as Good Night and Good Luck and A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints, I don't know what to tell you. He's very diverse

So Tropic Thunder is his best role? They painted him black and he talked in a deep voice. You can't be serious about Home for the Holidays and Less than Zero. If you think those are two movies that are supposed to show how good of an actor he is, I don't know what to tell you.. He did literally nothing special in either of those movies.

Outside of Finding Nerverland and Grape, (and to a lesser extent Edward) Depp's roles are remarkably similar. That's his problem.

See above. Watch that stuff again (or listen in Rango) Depp has zero range. He's great at what he does, what he does is very very narrow. He isn't the chameleon that some make him out to be.
