However, it's likely due to me seeing it and assuming it was literally going to be the worst movie of all-time.

Also, went to see Dodgeball at the theater while in high school. We all though it would be just dumb but there was nothing else to do. Turned out it was dumb yet freaking hilarious.

Josie and the Pussycats. It's a really astute critique of pop culture with catchy songs and peak Parkey Posey. It's a legit great movie.

Pitch Perfect is an excellent answer. That's some infectious shite.

Good call. It's pretty great.

I'll go with MacGruber. Thought it would be stupid and I would hate it (in the vein of some other SNL skits-turned-into-movies), but I thought it was fricking hilarious and I loved it.

I fully expected to hate Shawshank, and then it turned out to be one of my three favorite movies of all time.

My friends twisted my arm. I ended up loving it.

Yeah, that's it. The part with Rickman trying to buy the jewelry had me dying for some reason.

Looper: Looked like the ole "meet my future self" and defeat the bad guy together kinda movie. Turned out to be a really entertaining and well written movie.

About a Boy.

It was me and my brother. I don't even know how he chose it.

Pitch Perfect is a good answer like a few have said

Also watched Begin Again on Netflix sorta recently and liked it wayyy more than I expected since I'm usually not a fan of music/song based movies

Good one. I'll also throw in "Oblivion" for the Tom Cruise sci-fi being better than I'd thought it would be.

I'll also agree with the "John Carter" as another poster mentioned. Disney did such a poor job promoting that movie.
