Robin Hood is a great movie all the way around. But what really sets it a level above is the great Roger Miller music.

I never really had much of a feel for Sword and the Stone one way or the other.

I will second the post above with the Rescuers Down Under. I think both Rescuers and Rescuers down under were excellent movies.

It seems like an abrupt ending because it's based on only the first, shorter, part of The Once and Future King. The rest of the book deals with what Arthur does after he becomes king, so the story of his childhood helps to understand why he acts the way he does as an adult, but of course we don't see that in the movie version.

The movie version is still awesome, though.

My parents had 3 movies recorded on a VHS tape that my brothers and I watched over and over.

Pete's Dragon
Robin Hood
Sword and the Stone

All 3 were great movies. The voice acting and songs in Robin Hood might have been the best Disney ever made, IMO. Lil John, Prince Jon, Robin, Friar Tuck, Narrator Rooster (Forget his actual name), Hiss, Sheriff, Nutsy, Trigger, etc. were such great and memorable characters (I probably haven't seen the movie in 20 yrs and I remember them like yesterday).

Now that it's ben mentioned, it's evident that they recycled many of the animations from Jungle Book. But man, Robin Hood was awesome and for me, so much more entertaining than Jungle Book (aside from a couple great songs). The opening scene just sets the tone for the rest of the movie perfectly.

The Sword in the Stone was just an abrupt ending to me. Merlin spends the whole movie training Arthur to simply not use what he has learned throughout the movie to pull a sword out of a stone

When you think about it, Robin Hood ends abruptly as well. He survives the jump into the moat and then King Richard the Lion Hearted shows back up all of a sudden
