Every few years there's a friends hanging around sitcom. Its a Hollywood trope.
There will always be this type of sitcom.
Not saying they all will be as good as Friends.
But Hollywood will keep churning them out until something hits.
The same formula is always there. Friends who hang around for a ridiculous amount of time, seemingly 24/7, and are all looking for their soul mate, while some pair up amongst the friends and then inevitably break up.

quote:The title is terrible but it's kept my attention when I can catch it. I'm hoping it's going to get better with age.
Really? I caught some of the first episode and wasn't sold on it. Plus, I just figured it would be cancelled with the quickness anyway, if for nothing else than the awful title.

Geez, how about a spoiler alert?

Regina Philange
I was always a big fan of Phoebe
I love how they kept Regina Philange as a recurring "name" throughout the series.

You might be the only person on Earth to ever utter this phrase.
She sucked hard.

Happy Endings was great when it was on. New Girl is probably the best right now

The first 2 or 3ish seasons of NG I thought were great and made a point to watch every week. I haven't watched in about 2 years now after losing interest. It just got kinda...bleh.

Friends with Better Lives is trying to attempt it. Same base, same general idea and way more open explicitly. The only other difference is of the 6 characters two are married with kids(to each other), two are dating (each other) and two are single.
It's a pretty good cast. Some funny moments with potential if they can figure out the right flow/dialogue for the cast. If I remember correctly, Friends' first season episodes had some slow parts trying to figure out the direction

Pretty sure it's only on 3rd season so that'd be hard to have not watched in 2 years

Ross: Oh really? Well I guess Monica should know about Atlantic City.
Chandler: Dude!
Monica: What happened in Atlantic City?
Ross: Well, Chandler and I are in a bar...
Chandler: Did you not hear me say, "Dude!"
Ross: And this girl is making eyes at Chandler, okay? So after a while he goes over to her and, uh, after a minute or two, I see them kissing. Now, I know what you're thinking, Chandler's not the type of guy who just goes to bars and makes out with girls. And you're right, Chandler's not the type of guy who just goes to bars and makes out with girls.
Monica: You kissed a guy? Oh my God.
Chandler: In my defense, it was dark and he was a very pretty guy.
Ross: Oh, Mon, I laughed so hard...
Chandler: Ho ho, so hard we had to throw out your underwear again?
Ross: Whatever, dude. You kissed a guy.

There were so many lines on that show. I think the commando talk is my favorite.
Could I BE wearing anymore clothes!?
And the game show episode. Theeee lightning round
