then....this may be why it's a "supportive" town for hockey.

can't imagine new Orleans supporting this sport for very long. sure.......just like the icegators, it would be a hit to start but, it would surely fade after a few seasons.

Another Nashviller voting hell yes. Much of the key here - along with getting people familiar with hockey being awesome, was them playing smack in the middle of a tourist-rich downtown. New Orleans has that bigtime, assuming they'd play in the Super(still Mercedes?)Dome.

Would I support it? Yes --- just as long as they don't have a stupid mascot like the Pelicans. Would other people in the area support it? Nope --- it would be a joke. People on this region didn't grow up watching it playing hockey, and it's not conducive to the weather here, so they don't understand it's awesomeness.

at first they would have to market to Northern transplants... we do have a lot in uptown and mid-city.

then when that base is built market to the families with kids

then after that market the brawls and fighting to the people of Slidell and Chalmette
