if UF offers close to that I believe he'd stay but only he knows.

Didn't Will Muschamp say Florida was his favorite team as a child? I don't see him leaving.

It's hard to turn down that kind of money though and he could have an easier road to title there than in sec

Had a fella tell me the other day that if saban wins another NC this year that he will be the next coach at Texas for about 8-10 million a year.

It's not a question of whether or not Texas would target him, IMO -- he's almost certainly on their short list, or so I would think. The question is whether he'd actually leave, as you've pointed out. That's a hard question. Obviously money talks, and if UT were to make an offer that was just head-and-shoulders better than what UF was offering I'd expect he'd leave. UF isn't exactly poor, though, so I'd expect them to offer up a competitive counter-offer.

There's a good chance we find out the answer in a year or so

WM grew up liking florida and spent some time growing up there, so yes it is his "dream job" I guess. However, if Texas offered him $6M he'd be hard pressed to stay. For one, he will have MUCH less difficulty in the big 12. In the SEC he has to play UGA/LSU/UT/SC/FSU every year, throw in bama/atm/auburn some years too. At Texas he doesn't contend with that. The recruiting in TX is just as fertile, plus he's been there before so he knows the area.

I don't know what he would or wouldnt' do, but it's definitely not a slam dunk he'd stay at uf.

Rumors i always hear, is that when Mack leaves

TCU head Coach is their #1 target, with Briles(Baylor) being #2. Couldn't go wrong with either one.

I think Broyles is a little underrated.

He was very good at Arkansas, but 88 is a bit old to come back to coaching

Art Briles at Baylor is a pretty good HC, but he has turned down some other offers and at 57 would not be a long term solution imo for Texas.

I think chicken just likes sturring up shite. Why would he have connections with UT? Is he a closet longhorn fan? I would think he would have inside sources with Lsu, not UT

Would be a pointless, lateral move and he's already building something at UF.

It could be interesting when Mack Brown finally does step. down.... no one knows what Muschamp's resume will look like 12 months. Their offenses have really struggled, Dan Quinn and Matt Elam are gone. It's pretty clear UF played over their heads in 2011... could've easily lost a couple more games and got slammed pretty good by UL in the sugar.

The question could come down to - does Florida think WM is worth 6 million a year?... say he goes 9-3 in 2013 with another loss to UGA and no SEC East championship. His overall record would be around 27-11... is that worth 6+ million a year?

IMO, UF will match any offer by Texas... ADs are absolutely scared when it comes to coaching turnover. They'd much rather overpay someone than have to go through the unknown of hiring a new coach (will you hire the next Urban Meyer, or the next Ron Zook?).
