He would have dominated until he ran into Lennox.

Not sure about that, but I also don't think Cus would have kept him in line and out of trouble like it's always insinuated.

Obviously you could argue degrees of "trouble" but I think it's obvious that Tyson would have still had major issues and gotten into trouble and probably at some point would not have put boxing as priority 1 even with Cus around.

Easily. If that derailed train would have stayed on the tracks then there would be no argument

Possibly, have read Tyson's book Cus was a large stablizing force in his life, but he was dealing with a lot of issues. Even if Cus would have lived longer there is no telling if Tyson would have succumb to his issues.

Yeah, he wasn't beating Lennox. Or likely Holyfield, too, still. Riddick Bowe would probably have worked him as well. I loved Tyson, but he was a small heavyweight and wouldn't have fared well against the big, skilled guys who weren't intimidated by him.

I think he was headed down the same road no matter what.

In one of his docs he reveals he mostly lost his drive once he won all of the titles. Add to that he was a flawed fighter. Those taller guys with reach always gave him trouble.

You talking about Iron Ambition? Was that good? Saw it in Barnes and Noble and was intrigued by it

Tyson with his head on straight vs Holyfield in say 1992 or 1993 would be awesome to see

After Cus passed and Roney was gone there was no one to keep the freeloaders and childhood influences out of his head and out his wallet

Undisputed Truth,

My brother bought read and gave it to me. Deals with everything, first page he admits that he is an adultery, drug user, alcoholic, thief, mugger, etc. but "I did not rape Desiree Washington"

Even if acid had lived another 10 years or more, it was only a matter of time before Tyson lost it.

All children eventually break free from their father figures. There's just no way Cus would have maintained control over a fully adult Mike Tyson. Tyson has a lot of deep psychological scarring. How could any one man keep someone like Mike Tyson in a bottle?

I have to say no. I remember Tyson's ascent very well.

Cus was 77. Even if he had survived his bout of pneumonia, he wasn't going to be that long for the world. Tyson was a troubled youth, and even the constant control and mentoring of Cus couldn't keep him on the straight and narrow. The cycle of fame, money, and the broken man-child that Tyson was, was never going to be kept in check for very long, by anyone.

Mike said on e:60 he was relieved when he lost the title in Tokyo. He hated being champ because of all the pressure and publicity.

To so easily say Tyson couldn't have beaten Lewis is complete horseshite.

Everyone Tyson fought was bigger than he was and until his head got fricked up he obliterated all of them.

Would Lewis have won? Probably because of his length of nothing else but Tyson damn sure had a better than average chance.
