I tend to believe that all of the NFL "busts", at least at QB, could have actually been successful had they been drafted later into a better situation.

There is no way to prove or disprove this hypothesis. So, is this merely for conversation?

It's like speculating whether or not Archie Manning would be a Hall of Famer if he'd gotten drafted by the Cowboys.

Only one thing seems certain ... unless you are Bernie Kosar, if you are drafted by the Browns ... you are FUCT!

Being able to sit behind Bledsoe and have Belichick as his HC is a pretty great situation to be in

Now it is.

But back then, Belichick was just another coach in the NFL. His last coaching stint in the NFL had been five seasons with the Cleveland Browns from 1991-1995. He finished below .500 in four out of five of those seasons. So there was absolutely no guarantee of anything when Belichick took over the Patriots in 2000.

In Brady's rookie season, and the first season with Belichick as the head coach of the Patriots, New England went 5-11. It was pure chance that allowed Brady to become the starting QB in the second game of the '01 season.

I think the better question is: "would Brady be the qb he is without meeting UA in the bowl game?" Alabama made him a better QB. Print the fricking shirts.
