Ask Larry Fitzgerald how much being black helped him win a Heisman.
Not many WR of any race win the Heisman.

It's as simple as the defenses Stanford faced and playing on the west coast.
Same West Coast teams that Reggie Bush played against and won it?

I forgot about him for a second. However, that had more to do with Stanford's Record than anything.
Andre Williams of Boston college had sicker stats than Toby Gerhart but was overlooked because Boston College sucked.
The Heisman shouldn't care about the record of the team the players is on ,but clearly they do.
Question for everyone in this thread
Should a teams record be a factor in determining the Heisman Winner?

The last white running back to win the Heisman was John Cappelletti in 1973.
There have been plenty of white running backs since then - they just don't get the votes anymore.
btw, Archie Griffin came in 5th in 1973 and he had more yards and a better average than Cappelletti.
So the tables have turned the other way around the last 30 years.

The only player to ever win the Heisman on a losing team was Paul Hornung over Jim Brown.
I think the most losses in the modern era for a Heisman winner was Tebow in 2007 - with 3 losses.
(Of course it was also the same shitty year across CFB, where even the MNC had 2-losses.)

People dont take white players seriously unless they are QBs or OL.

In those days, only upperclassmen received the award. Tebow was like the first underclassmen to win the Heisman.

If Henry played for Stanford he'd have feasted on those weak Pac-12 defenses. McCaffrey would be good but nothing special against SEC defenses. Look at how pedestrian he looked against Northwestern and Notre Dame (2 of the 3 highest ranked defenses he faced).
Over half of McCaffrey's offensive production was against bottom 50 defenses. That's not impressive; plenty of players could put up similar numbers in his place.
There are maybe three players who could replicate Henry's impact for Alabama and one missed the majority of the season injured.

Wow, your post was pretty racist and full of stereotype presumptions.

Welp, I'm glad you have that crystal ball to clear that up for everyone.

He didn't win because he plays out west

LSU fans are so mad about Alabama being good, and DH2 winning the Heisman

Would Watson had won if he were white.

Yes, by a wide margin because he has the stats, ability, character, etc.... but most important, because of what school and conference he plays for.

WTF? Did you not read my post? I gave plenty of reasoning behind my statement.
If you disagree with me that's fine but I'm not the one throwing out accusations of racism and bias that just aren't there.
