Anyone have any ideas on how to display these seats? They do not have legs and were mounted to the concrete steps in the Dome. And not straight down, but bolted to the vertical edge of the step behind you.

I'd take a 2x6 vertical against the mounting holes, and then run 2 2x4s flat against the ground as legs on either end. Have the 2x4s run the length of the extended seat in the front, and extend out the back maybe 6". You can mitre some 2x4s to serve as braces off the 2x4 legs to the 2x6 base.

You can paint it purple if you get the yellow seats, ought to work awesome in your room.

Edit: use carriage bolts to attach the seat to the 2x6's. You might need to use a 2x8, its hard to judge the size between the holes from the photo.

clearly the answer is to build concrete steps

(though i bet you could rig many different types of basic box like structures to substitute)

So it's an auction? Or the chairs are 200?

There are two different things going on. A "sale" at 8am and they have 12x12 patches of Astroturf for $20 and pairs of seats for $200. Then, at 9:30 they are having the auction that will include bigger items. I've seen mentioned: turnstiles, dugout benches, office furniture, suite furniture, old grounds crew uniforms, etc.

Man I want those chairs but won't be able to drive 5 hours to Houston!
They need to sell this shite online

As I said earlier, I'm open to pick up some stuff for people on here. I'd prefer the money up front but there's that trust thing. I don't know you and you don't know me. Plus, I'd have no idea how to get the seats to you. Unless you want to pick up the next time you come to Houston. Elprez's item is easy to ship because he wants turf.

I might be doing something like this. Will be much easier once I get them to the house and can take measurements etc. Thanks!

Yeah, but I want it to be sturdy because I know at some point someone will sit on them. I'll either need legs/bracing to go straight down on the front or mount them to a wall behind them.

if i was you, i would go

here, the derelicts paid big bucks for garbage out of old busch, they allowed ownership to rape them. They knew cardinal tools would pay top dolla for garbage, and they did. And shite was way overpriced.

But i bet you will find some sweet arse deals from a-dome.

I wanted to get 4 seats from the old Arena(st.louis Blues), they were nicely padded, pleather n all, but i sat on my arse, and all were sucked up.

HTown I'd pay you if you bought a pair of chairs for me. I'd go up and pick them up cash in hand within the next couple weeks or so plus extra for your troubles. I just have things to do this weekend keeping me from doing it myself.

I emailed you back. Consider it done.

So far on my shopping list:

Myself: Yellow chairs and turf.
Elprez: 1 square turf.
TexasTiger08: 1 set of 2 chairs (no preference on color)

Anyone else?

Holy Shite!!! Ha got here at 6:20 a.m. expecting maybe a few hundred people, but with still a good chance of seats. Try a few thousand people. The line is now wrapped around the halls 3 times. Should have gotten here earlier

ETA:

Since there are so many people here they announced you can prepay for seats and they will make more available to pickup in about a month. Glad I didn't leave

You can tell they were not expecting this many people, they are nowhere near adequately prepared for this. Lines are all sorts of jacked up. They should have just snaked the line.

J/k, that would start a fricking riot! I'm by the starbucks by Hall D. Going your way and have to loop back. The line is snaked over here.

I never thought this many people would be here.

I guess you can't underestimate the historical significance of the Astrodome and the meaning it holds for Houston sports fans.
