Say ur the Rangers and everyone is healthy, which means ur power hitting 3b and ur prospect SS/2b are stuck, back in the minors.

Why not allow(with rules) them to loan these players out to other clubs in need.

Teams gets their top prospects who are blocked, MLB experience(AAA is not great bball), Small market clubs in need ,get players who can help their club now.

Obviously you could have teams abuse this to hurt other teams, but if it's done correctly, you could let ur guys blocked get MLB exp, while helping other teams compete. Win, Win for club loaning out players and club who gets the loaned player.

Yeah or no? Being stuck in AAA is not helping ur player.

What happens when your team and the team with your prospect play each other?

You're paying your own prospect to help beat your own team?

The MLB has more parity than the NFL or NBA, by a long shot... Hence the reason that people think it's popularity is waning.

If it's extremely restricted and limited it could work

Why would an opposing team want this?

At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Aren't Cardinals fans supposed to be "knowledgeable" baseball fans?

In soccer the loaned players are not allowed to play against the team they are loaned from.

I don't really see the benefit for the small market club in your scenario. Why would you use those ML spots to get experience for another team's prospects when you can use them on your own?

If you're a small market club that's not competitive right now (let's use Cincinnati) what is the upside to giving prospects from somewhere like Houston or Cleveland reps at the ML level when you could see what you have in your own system? Worst case you lose more games and get a higher pick in the draft

If you're a small market club that's good then these guys typically can't help you anyways, because you're good. I don't see many scenarios where this would benefit both teams and if it does why not just do a permanent trade. This works in Euro soccer because of the huge competitive gap and lack of incentive to tank

With some restrictions it could be a good rule. For those unware, this is common practice in European Soccer.

Basic concept is that it allows your better prospects (or older vets) to play at the highest level if you don't need them.

The other team will assume all (or part) of that players contract for a certain time.

Such as, you have 3 very good position players. 2 will stay on the main roster. Traditionally the 3rd would go down to AAA. Under this system it that 3rd player would go to another team temporarily and get to play against top level competition instead of AAA.

Win-win for both teams. One team gets to have their player play against better competition while the other gets a temporary upgrade to the roster.

Would need slots fine tuning and restrictions from the way it is done in Europe but not as bad of an idea as some are making it out to be.

I would totally want another organization tweaking my prospect's hitting/pitching/fielding mechanics.
