TUK is right. Go watch the games from the 80's. It'll be clear how much better and how much more physical the game was then when you could actually make contact with players.
Bill Laimbeer would have 5 blocks a game today.

A picture is worth a thousand words, but I'll keep it short and simple: You can't play defense like this today without a foul being called, not that anyone today knows how to play with all of this soft zone shite in the league today:

A foul was called on that play.

Yep, I just looked it up.

By the way, nobody is even touching Jordan, and to say that would be called a foul today is you just guessing in order to try to prove some point.

Because Doc River's elbow/forearm clearly isn't directly against Jordan's back or anything.
You're a joke dude.
ETA: Doc, not Rolando.

I'm talking about other than him. His arm being on his back isn't a foul.
There are all those bodies and arms around Jordan, but nothing is touching him other than Rivers' forearm, which isn't a foul.

I think you just pulled a pic from the 90's bro

Also, the best defensive teams of the last 30 odd years were those Bad Boy Pistons. Guess when they were playing? Hint: Reagan was President.

Uh no. They were the opposite. They couldn't stay in front of their man so they resorted to mauling and grabbing. That's not defense

They didn't maul anyone. They played physical. If it was against the rules, they would have been whistled. Hell it's not like anyone liked them enough to swallow the whistles.
If today's Heat had to play those Bad Boy Pistons in their prime for 10 games, the Heat might score 90 once, maybe twice. Meanwhile the Pistons would never score less than 90-95. Rodman/Aguirre/Dantley would make LeBron witness his arse being owned like a $3 dollar whore at a frat party.

Dude you can't even touch players on the perimeter today. LeBron can't handle any physical play today without whining, what makes you think he or the Bostrich or Dwhistle could handle a physical game against arguably the most physically tough NBA team of all time?

Well, I guess you don't watch hornets games.
