According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

quote:

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Browns quarterback Brian Hoyer suffered a right shoulder injury during Sunday's 17-13 loss to the Panthers and will be evaluated day-to-day, a league source confirmed.

The injury could thrust rookie quarterback Connor Shaw into the starting lineup for Sunday's season finale in Baltimore.

With Johnny Manziel suffering a pulled hamstring late in the first half, the Browns are expected to activate Shaw, the undrafted free agent from South Carolina, off the practice squad.

With the top two quarterbacks ailing, Shaw could very well get the start for the 7-8 Browns. He's been on their practice squad all year.

Hoyer's shoulder injury was first reported by Jason LaCanfora of CBS Sports.

I liked Shaw in college, I'd be pulling for him for sure.

It has begun...

ETA: What percent of Cleveland fans can tell Hoyer apart from Shaw walking down the street?

Shaw is the savior Cleveland has been looking for....and Cleveland will probably cut him in the offseason.

IIRC I think shaw played the best out of all 3 during the preseason. I know that's not saying much but still.

Agreed... Shaw does have some upside - good athlete, decent arm.

looked really good in the combine too, surprised he didn't get offered a little sooner.

It's going to be hard for Shaw to look worse than Manziel.

considering in the combine you are throwing to a bunch of talented guys, you've NEVER thrown to before,, we already know a bunch of NFL offices are populated by half-wits.

Didn't the Browns reach out to Rex Grossman and he said no thanks?

As a Browns fan I'm excited for him. He cannot possibly look worse than Manziel, who is the most skittish quarterback I have ever seen play.
