Nor I. I have trouble keeping my grass green.

It will be interesting to see when & how the tree is replaced.

Sounds like they had a reserve pine tree already tapped as the tree's replacement, but not sure whether that tree survived the storm either.

This part could be true. I know the guy and area that AN get their trees from. All of the pines I have seen looked the same, but there could have been others I haven't seen.

There has long been conjecture that Augusta National was preparing for this day, and that it has a replacement picked out from some undisclosed location. Whether or not that can or will occur in time for the 2014 Masters is to be determined.

Who knows what they'll do? I think they wait until after the tournament and have some sort of ceremony for the new tree.

You can count the number of AN members who voted for Obama on one finger. The middle one.

There's a Democrat in the thread. Gave me negative rep. No way I get any sleep tonight.

Wow, that looks bad. Was this really the only tree on the course damaged?

I know the tree had history with Ike, but otherwise had no relevance to the course.
Peter Oolsterhaus (sp?) will have something to talk about on #17 this April.

Also, my bet is that they'll clear the tree out and leave a circle of pine straw in its place for this year.

by April 2015, there will be another pine in its place at a minimum of 30 feet tall.

I don't think this is entirely true. It was still in play for some players. Didn't Tiger hurt himself a few years ago because his ball was stuck under that tree?

Maybe no relevance is an overstatement, but I don't think it had a major impact on the course.

However, running through my mind, I can't think of one single tree at ANGC that does impact play more than that one.

Well if we are talking ads at the bottom, I am going to need a lot more than "one simple tweak" to break 90.

I have only golfed half a dozen times in my life. The only way I break 90 is if I quite after 12 holes, when I am having a good day.
