The question should be phrased exactly like this:

"What scenario exists where a 2 loss big ten champion passes Ohio state?"

They can say we don't delve into hypotheticals but it is not a hypothetical situation. The B1G champ will have 2 losses

Committee better hope Wisconsin wins if they want OSU in the playoffs. Makes it a much easier sell.

Its not that OSU doesn't deserve to be in.

Its the precedent that it sets.

If Penn State beats Wisconsin, Penn State DESERVES to be in. You can't keep Penn State out, and their other loss, is to the team who handed CLEMSON its only loss.

If Penn State wins, both OSU and Penn State should make the playoff.

If Wisconsin wins, you can make the argument that OSU gets in over Wisconsin based on H2H.

If Penn State wins, and they don't get in, that sets a precedent that you cant come back from. Especially since the committee seems to make up the rules as they go along.

Imagine the shite storm if Washington beats Colorado, Penn State beats Wisconsin, Clemson beats Virginia Tech and Florida takes out Alabama. That puts two teams who didn't win their conference in the title picture, while also potentially leaving out 2 major conference title winners. They really just need to move to an 8 team playoff. 5 major conference (ACC, Big 10, Big 12, Pac 12, SEC) champions are auto bids and then you can take the next best 3 teams.

Oh trust me, I don't believe that it will happen, but just imagine the shite storm scenario that would take place if it did?

How so? OSU fans are losing their shite. The other half is trolling them saying they don't deserve to get in. I'm just over here laughing at LSU fans mad about coach O when he was the best they could do because LSU is a shite job with the worst fanbase in college football.

Trust me, I don't even have pants on. There is no melt here.

I'm not losing my shite. I looked for clues the first two years and got a few:

1. Playing in a conference title game helps you a ton if resumes are close
2. Having more losses does not impact you if you pass the eye test and have a good resume
3. Eye test matters

2014 OSU got helped by #1 and #3 because Baylor TCU and OSU had similar resumes. OSU's resume got better the last week (as did Baylors) while TCU's got worse. OSU also looked great in the conference title game

2015 showed me that a 2 loss champion would pass a 1 loss team non-champ when the 2 loss champion had a good resume. Stanford passed a 1 loss OSU based on that statistic but did not pass Iowa. Iowa had no good wins but had 1 loss and played for the conference title, and played tough.

In 2016, the committee will have a decision to make that will shape the decisions in the future.

Last week, OSU was #2 and the committee chair said they were not that close to Wisconsin and PSU. Following that comment, OSU, Wisky and PSU will each play 1 top ten team. OSU beat a top 5 Michigan team at home, while Wisky and PSU both play each other. There is no scenario to me, where the committee chair can make that claim, then look at resumes next week and not come to the same conclusion. Wisconsin and PSU both can boost their resumes a ton in the title game, but neither will be even close to OSU's even with a win.

That's like my opinion man pic

My issue with OSU beating Michigan is that this was the same Michigan team that lost to an unranked Iowa team and only dropped two spots in the rankings. How can you lose to an unranked team and only drop two spots? That in itself shows how stupid the rankings are. Then Michigan travels to Columbus and takes Ohio State to double OT. Ohio State should have lost that game, with a few questionable calls at the end of the game to force the OT.

Neither Michigan nor Ohio State are playing in the Big 10 title game. It's one thing to play in the title game and win/lose, and a completely different thing to not even be playing next week.

IMO if Washington, Clemson and penn state win their conference games, they're all in. If one slips up Ohio state is in. The committee has proven before that week to week rankings are meaningless and when you're not on the field, you often get leapfrogged.

Yep. You're basically saying, "frick the conferences and your records, we're just going to pick what ever team we like best."

Penn State's 2 losses are to Pittsburgh (who handed Clemson its only loss) and Michigan (who OSU beat, and PSU beat OSU).

If they beat Wisconsin next week, they would absolutely deserve to be in the playoff.
