Winston batted .235 his first year in college, he hit .128 his 2nd year, with no career homeruns. He did better as a pitcher, but he was drafted as a right fielder.

Maybe during a lifetime, but not concurrently. As others have said the contracts today pretty much prevent someone like Deion Sanders or Bo Jackson and Jackson ruined both of his careers playing football.

I think you will see more people try baseball like a pitcher and then switch to being a QB in the NFL or vice versa.

I had an old friend, recently deceased, who was the boyhood neighbor and friend of Curt Simmons.

He said Simmons was a great HS quarterback and had a scholarship to Penn State. Simmons wanted to take it. But his father nixed the idea insisting that a baseball career would be more long term and lucrative. The NFL wasn't as big a deal as MLB back in those days. Simmons had a long career in baseball. His dad was right.

This is the first example that came to mind. We will always have athletes that could play 2 or more sports at a pro level, but current money and contracts leads me to believe you won't actually see it happen.

Wasn't a factor in the majors. I think he could have been but he went back to the NBA as soon as his gambling suspension was up.

Still sour he changed his commitment last minute from ASU to TEN. Hope he's doing well though.

Marquise Goodwin is trying for USA track at the Olympics. There's a guy on ASU that's trying out for it too. True burners.

MJ was never going to make the majors. He was a banjo hitter.

There are a lot of NFL QBs that could have pitched in mlb. But like others have said they chose one sport and stuck with it.
