Will we ever have another true 2 sport athlete?

R. Wilson comes to mind right now but he isn't a true two sport player. He was drafted and played in the minors but never reached the majors. Will D. Sanders, B. Jordan, and B. Jackson be the last of the real 2 sport athletes?
the money has gotten better which is huge and kids are specializing in 1 sport earlier rather than playing everything through high school, so this impacts kids who can succeed at both at the same time.

Is your phone defaulting sport to star?

Lebron easily could have been if he wanted to. It's too bad, that could have been interesting.
There would probably be more if the NBA and NFL didn't run concurrently

I would think there would be more crossover with football and track. The seasons are pretty split (at least the outdoors part). Professional track guys do pretty well though. I guess it's not worth taking the extra risks with football.

I guess technically Chad Jones. He was a member of the NYGiants and now the CincyReds, but not at the same time.

There are about 5 fathers in my small town who feel their son will be.

Unfortunately with the way these guys contracts are being drafted now, I don't think it's possible. You've got some people who are contractually forbidden from riding motorcycles, horses, sometimes even pickup basketball.
I can't see someone forking over millions for someone in the NFL only to have them get injured while playing for the NBA.

2-sport athlete means football/baseball/basketball, not track ... running in a straight line really fast is not the same as hitting a baseball or playing pt guard ... bo and primetime were truly great athletes ... most track stars aren't very good at wr ...

Probably not pro just because of contracts. I know on the NBA end, UK had a hell of a time getting some of those guys to even be allowed to play in the UK vs. UNC alumni game recently.

I think its too difficult to be a two sport athlete these days. Once a player makes it to college he needs to pick one sport if he wants to be elite

A body can't take the wear and tear of playing two pro sports year around at a high level. So no I don't think we will. I always wanted to see Allen Iverson play football though. He was an elite talent.

Nate Robinson could have done it. Started at CB as a true Freshman on a UW team coming off of a Rose Bowl victory. Decided to stick to basketball his Sophomore year, then left for the NBA as a Junior.

I thought Winston might because he excelled in college in both sports.

Eh. You still have the occasional athlete who can pull it off from a physical aspect. Jameis Winston comes to mind as a player that was definitely elite in at least one of the two sports he played collegiately.
