Clearly football is king. It isn't a huge secret, but this truely showcased it. With how quickly the board pussed out over a legitimately retarded non-issue, could we see a unified incident about a legit issue like pay for CFB players?

I feel these kids should get some money to help other than scholarships. Nothing outrageous but a few grand a month seems reasonable.

I know there are other issues. Title IX and it would be unfair because non-revenue sports would bitch and moan. Additionally the majority of football programs aren't even money makers. Guess the solution there is to have the NCAA break-off even further with 30-40 teams and create a new division specifically for football.

We need something positive to come from the stupidity in Mizzou.

They already get this via pell grants, clothing checks, travel checks, and off campus checks.

Nope, it will bring more lynch mobs in the future.

These football players are being played like fools by these clowns.

Only way to fix it is to get rid of "athletic scholarships"

Make college sports for college students as was intended

Let the SJWs and thugabes play in minor leagues

If they no longer receive free educations, I'm totally fine with them getting paid whatever they want.

ETA: Whatever they want meaning whatever the market dictates.

If you start paying them, it stops being a college sport. These universities are universities with sports teams, NOT sports teams with universities.

I've been saying for years that the college sports status quo would be destroyed when the racism industry discovered it

Today is the beginning of that process

is it really college sports when the athletes are already getting so much above and beyond a normal student?

Absolutely.

If college players everywhere were to 'strike' there would be some sort of change.

What has transpired in Missouri has administrators around the country nervous.. The fact that you have a football coach essentially running off the president of the system because he's afraid of the ramifications of actually trying to talk his players off the edge.. Yes, Pinkel supporting the ridiculousness of these kids is the key to Wolfes resignation today.. He didn't have to wade into this so bluntly.

This is only the beginning

The Media is doing all the work for them, claiming this is a big win for the football players.(only one who won was the d-bag who lost his freebies as a grad asst)

way too much for a guy that has no conference titles and his best years are when his division has completely fall on its face(florida down, tenn down, etc), just like in Big12.

Pinkel was the whipping boy till Nebraska, Colorado, and KST all took 5 steps backwards. Then the Old man went back to KST, Nubs got better and the pecking order of MIssouri being 3rd banana was restored.

I believe he got another raise to close to 3mil???

As in when Black players weren't allowed to attend certain public schools, but the racism 'industry' just discovered College Football?

I don't know the particulars of this case ,but I am glad the kids realize their value( Like Northwestern players wanting to unionize).

They were asked to attend this school & not the reverse( for the most part).

Schools don't create great players they only recruit them.

I hope this NFL farm system scam is ended or modified someday.

No. It just showed that all you have to do is complain and you'll force someone to resign. You'll probably get people demonstrating about the lack of black assistant coaches, head coaches, AD's and forcing change via the media.
