Fuente is in his fourth year at Memphis and has the Tigers in the Top 25 with a record of 5-0. Memphis was 10-3 last season. His offenses helped put TCU back on the map.

Butch Jones, in his third year, is currently 2-3 (0-2 in SEC) with next two games against Georgia and Alabama.

Is Fuente the hottest name out there and will Tennessee sack Butch Jones to get him?

Tennessee is going to lose their next three games and move to 2-6.

He might not last the season.

ETA: Wait Chicken I didn't mean to use my 70,000th post on a Tennessee thread. Plz knock the ticker back one. Thx

Doesn't Memphis have a dirty feel about them? Maybe that's one reason people may want to stay away from him. Seems like a good coach, though.

Jones out, Fuente in.

Could Fuente actually turn Tennessee's talent into a contender though?

CBJ won't get fired during or after this season unless it's for cause imo.

Tennessee will struggle to be a .500 this year by the end of the season.

He is 5-13 in SEC play and is about to be 5-15. What would be the logic of keeping him around? Unless there are some major financial considerations, I have to guess Tennessee cuts bait.

The sad part is.... are there really any better coaches available right now?

I don't think Fuente is the answer for them, but he could be.

unless Vol fans are still desperately holding out for John Gruden, Fuente seems to be the logical choice if they are going to make a change.

the university of Tennessee hates everything Memphis, seriously it's despised. I don't think they would go there. Jones may be canned (I think he gets another year personally) but they won't hire Fuente, way too "skidrow" for them
