Will Dak Prescott's inexperience get exposed in the playoffs?

There has been some great rookie QBs over the years but the only rookie QB who has actually played well in the playoffs was Russell Wilson in 2012. Big Ben threw five interceptions in two games in 2004. Marino threw two interceptions in his first playoff game in 1983. So did Matt Ryan against the Cardinals in 2008. Andy Dalton actually threw three picks against the Texans in 2011 and Andrew Luck barely completed over 50% of his passes against the Ravens in 2012. The regular season is one thing. The playoffs are an entirely different beast.

This is going to be one of the most interesting parts of the game, because if Dallas can just lean on the run and barely have Dak throw, they could get away with his inexperience not being too much of an issue.

That said, if GB suddenly shuts down the run and puts the game on Dak's shoulders, I do believe he will get exposed. Of course, stopping that run game is easier said than done.

I know they won't do it, but starting Romo is the better overall choice for winning this season imo.

I think GB is too beat up and Dallas will smash them. But, when things get tight against Matty Ice or Russell Wilson the next week, experience may be the difference in those games.

It's a very legit question. He's a rookie. Rookie QBs have never won a conference championship. I admit there's not a single piece of evidence that he will play poorly, but history has proven that rookie QBs simply aren't ready for the pressure playoff caliber defenses create.

I'm pretty sure a rookie QB has won a conference championship before, but not a Super Bowl.

Tony Romo is clutch in playoffs.

Ah, is this the part where people who don't know much of anything about Romo start posting stupid shite?

When I get Romosexual feelings, I think I'm getting laid.

This is why I cannot pick Dallas to win the game. Dak has played well but I haven't seen him play well enough to escape the label of "inexperienced rookie" yet. I don't know if he can handle this stage. If he can, then we're good, but since we haven't seen it yet I have no reason to think he will.

I hate when people make statements without actually thinking about the possible reasons.
Let's say your statement is right, it tells you more about the quality of teams that have rookies starting for them (most likely bad teams) than it tells you about the QBs themselves.

This game is obviously more pressure, and the best way to relieve that pressure is a solid running game and Dallas has that.

I agree with your statement, but I see his inexperience manafest itself differently that other rookies. Namely, he protects the football, only 4 interception. I think his inexperience shows up because he has not been able to see the open man down field and hits the check down more that a seasoned QB. Personally, I think that's better than forcing it down field when the guy actually isn't open. He does seem to have a natural feel for clock management and seems to have a pretty relaxed demeanor. The playoff will certainly expose the areas that he is a rookie in. My hope is that they are not in areas that swing the game and that they can be mitigated through the run game and ball control.
