Will's FIRST at-bat in the major leagues.......

in the Astrodome against NOLAN RYAN.....

cracks a homer over the centerfield wall!

I remember it like it was yesterday (the game wasnt on tv in NOLA, but they showed it on all the local news channels).

Check it out:

will clark was by far my favorite baseball player growing up, and second only to michael jordan as my favorite all time athlete, but even back in the late 80s and early 90s before internet and social media, it was known that clark was an a-hole.

I'm not one to sh*t talk on a web site but I have to comment on this thread. I am 46 and grew up in the NOLA athletic community where everybody knows everybody. I can personally attest to the fact that Will Clark was not just an a-hole but one of epic proportions. I have seen this in action at Delgado, Lake Castle etc... I did not attend Jesuit but my entire family pretty much did and played baseball and I can say that he was almost always on his best behavior when he went back to Jesuit. Unfortunately for Will his time at Jesuit had done too much damage and he is universally disliked among the Jesuit crowd that I have been exposed to over the years. I find it humorous that he has morphed into some kind of a bad arse in this thread, as I got older you would see him out from time to time and he invariably would piss somebody off and I promise you this tough guy persona was not in effect. I will say that when UNO beat State in Starkville I remember a couple of the UNO guys loving the fact that they had not just beaten State but specifically Clark. It appears that some of you have had pretty good experiences with this guy so maybe he has gotten a little better as he has aged.

When you Google "Is Will Clark", the first autofill suggestion is "a jerk". There are a few interesting pieces that pop-up. May make for some interesting insights.
