I keep seeing this, but I'm wondering what spurred him to do this? I mean what were his motives?

I've heard two different things...he heard Chestnut say that if he were a real man, he'd be on stage and I've heard that he was protesting his contract

He crashed the contest in which he was not in.

Crashed = going on stage when he was not welcome.

Now put that into cop terms and he's breaking about 10 different laws.

I saw him say that on TV. Makes the most sense why Kobayashi might have done it.

Well he did say that on tv but I don't know if that's why Kobayashi rushed the stage.

He was just trying to get on tv for the only eating event that ESPN feels the need to force on us. He didnt want anyone to forget about him.

both. Apparently his contract limited some outside competitions and he thought he was not getting enough $$. I suppose that he how he makes his living and likely makes a damn good one.

He was pissed because Chestnut called him out. He also was probably pissed cause he figured he could have beaten 54 dogs. But the reality is that Chestnut didn't need to push it since Koby wasn't in the competition.

Supposedly, Koby was trying to renegotiate his contract all the way up to the start but he was banned from any competitions not hosted by his sponsor.

his sponser is terrible then. The Nathans hot dog eating contest is the most important event in his "sport"

There is a certain humor in one guy telling another guy that he's not a man cause he's not up there shoving tubes of meat into his mouth.
