I said this before, will say it again. This committee has set themselves up for failure-scrutiny when they come out weeks before final poll and list a top 4.

Let all the games be played, then list your top 4 and move on. Now they have Ohio State at #2 and the whole they didn't win conference stuff.

If they don't put Ohio State in the CFP, the committee is saying The Big 10 champion got 4-5 spots better than them in 1 week, ya right.

If there was no poll 6 weeks ago listing a top 4 or last weeks poll ultimately putting Ohio State St #2 then the committee could come out and say these are our teams for this years CFP. If Ohio St is in or not you will have less bitching.

So:
Committee STFU
Let all the games be played
Committee Meet
List teams after season
Profit ????

The alternative is to show a featured MAC football game so they opted to put out a show that millions watch, discuss and debate.

Then people would complain about transparency.

Ratings and discussion, that's all. I read where the NCAA will release projections of the Women's CBB tourney brackets. Expect to see the men do it soon.

I don't think waiting til the absolute end is the answer... maybe with 2 or 3 weeks left so there is more of a body of work to go off... it will also possibly eliminate another problem I have with the CFP committee... it'll stop a team, say Alabama, from getting half of their hypothetical 'playoff points' just because they're Alabama (same could be said for OSU, Oklahoma, etc)

If Penn State wants to be higher in the poll, don't lose to Pitt

I think you're right that it likely adds more "controversy" but that's likely by design.

Everyone tunes in and adds a billions hits to websites reading opinions and arguing about them.

I don't think Ohio State will drop out of the playoffs. But if they do it will be because Penn St and Oklahoma State both win convincingly.

The committee will then have a somewhat vague explanation about Penn State making up ground adding a neutral field win over a Top10 team to add a Big10 title and the Oklahoma win losing some luster as a Top10 for Ohio State.

Then, next year, they'll offer a different explanation for doing the exact opposite yet, in the big picture, none of it will be as unfair as people make it seem.

This is possible.

Will be interesting to see where Nebraska/Iowa/Pitt are this week in the rankings, if they are in.

Would give PSU an additional top 25 win, a top 25 loss, and would drop a top 25 win from OSU
