They have an ACC vs Big 10 challenge in Basketball? This would be epic! Has it even been discussed?

Big 10 isn’t in the FCS so SEC has no interest

Why would the big 10 want to end their playoff chances in week 1?

I would 100000% get behind this. I would bet the overwhelming majority of B1G fans would support this. Would SEC fans?

Got a feeling LSU would draw OSU while Alabama drew Rutgers.

Both conferences have 14 teams. Make it the 3rd week of the season.

Year 1-2 (Home and Home)

B1G East vs SEC East
B1G West vs SEC West

Year 3-4 (Home and Home)

B1G East vs SEC West
B1G West vs SEC East

Each team plays the same team for a 2 year period (Home and Home) Then rotate matchups and rinse and repeat. I think this would be GREAT for college football.

Just make sure it has to be on campus games - none of this Michigan vs LSU at damned Jerry World nonsense.

Agree with that 100%. I think now would be a perfect time. I think college football could use something like this. It would set these two conferences apart drastically and the revenue would most likely be amazing.

Simply put, there’s no reason for either conference to do it, as it poses too many risks.

If we’re gonna play one strong OOC game each year, then I sure as shite don’t want it being the Big 10 every year. Prime example is getting to play in the Rose Bowl in ‘21 against UCLA - love that.

Columbus is a cool city, went many times in my Abercrombie days, but I have no desire to go to some of the others.

Too many risks? Like? Absolutley nothing stopping you from still scheduling those schools. I personally would love a chance to play in Baton Rouge, Tuscaloosa, Auburn or Knoxville. Would be awesome.

I would love it. For no other reason than road trips to B10 stadiums/cities.

That’s what I’m saying! We need more of those kinds of games, not less. Listen the reality is the competitiveness between these conferences would be awesome for college football. We shouldn’t be shying away from competition.

If you don’t understand what I mean by risks, then I don’t know how else to explain it to you.

And there’s no fricking way I’d want LSU to have a top tier Big 10 team on the schedule each year, as well as some other top team ALONG with the conference schedule.

I’m actually trying to have an adult discussion. If you want to get childish, then good day.

I’ve explained why I would not like it. It has nothing to do with fear...this is a game, and my life does not revolve around it...it has everything to do with odds. And, like I said, BOTH conferences would stand to lose in this scenario.

It works for basketball because there are more games and more room for error.

The winners of those games would surely disagree that it hurts them. Again, smells like total fear, just being honest. Also, this would be GREAT for college football. I couldn’t disagree more with your assertion this would be bad for both conferences.
