Baylor has better wins and a better loss, so why on earth are they ranked below Ohio State?

ETA: I think if Baylor beats KSU they will (rightfully) jump OSU and maybe TCU as well

The loss is marginally better, and their wins aren't better.

So there's that.

How is beating the #3 team not better than beating the #8 team?

Ohio State is down to their 3rd string quarterback...

Regardless of where they are ranked, they are pretty much done in 2014.

WUT.

WVU would be a TD favorite over VTech on a neutral field.

Your going to argue that Baylor's win vs TCU and @OU aren't better than OSU wins @Michigan State?

Michigan State's only losses are to 2 and 5. It's not that much better of a win in and of itself, and the entire body of work for Ohio State is better as well.

That Baylor OOC schedule though

I swear this isn't an anti-Ohio State thread. I just think Baylor is getting screwed by the committee since a team with a weaker schedule and a team they beat head to head with the same record are ranked above them.

Same MSU team that hasn't won a game against the T25 this season and their best win is Nebraska and Maryland.

And their best wins are over Nebraska and Maryland, both mediocre at best teams.

Our OOC schedule sucks but lets talk the SoS over the duration of the season.

Baylor and OSU schedules are comparable. Both Sagarin and Massey have our SoS within 6 spots of each other.

Agreed. But that OOC is a turd in the punch bowl.

I just dont understand the focus on OOC scheduling. Shouldn't a stronger consideration be given to overall SoS. Why are we highlighting 1/4 of a portion of a season instead of the entire season?

It won't matter after Gordon goes over 2 bills and UW beats OSU.

Baylor has beaten 3 bowl teams.
OSU has beaten 9.

I thought it was interesting that the committee harped on this tonight. They went from considering quality win as wins against T25 and now they consider quality wins against teams bowl eligible.

Also this doesn't charge the fact that we have nearly identical SoS.

They didn't know who would be bowl eligible until this week.

Depends on where you look.

Some are roughly the same, some have Ohio State well ahead:

Ohio State - 31st SOS
Baylor - 107th

LINK

Ohio State - 48
Baylor - 76

LINK

Ohio State - 50th
Baylor - 92nd

Both are basically eliminated unless an upset happens, so it doesn't matter.
