So does that mean KD is better than Lebron?

28.2ppg / 8.2 reb / 5.0assist / 28.25per
KD had a better season yes. And is better than Leonard for sure as well.

It will happen with Curry in time too

Curry's got the numbers, just like Kawhi has.

I will gladly say Bron's the 2nd best player in the league right now. It is also perfectly reasonable to say Kawhi had a better season.

Maybe Bron's can get the player's MVP

So does it irk you that Leonard finished ahead of KD more or less than it irks you that KL finished ahead of Bron?

Harden had more assists and more points than both of them. We've figure it out. Bron actually should've finished 4th.

What about fg%, rebounds, and PER?

Remember, Bron led Leonard in every single one of those. Not just 2/5

Damn man you got him there. Now can I go pick 3 more stats to arbitrarily prove my point?

Kawhi's edge on LeBron is due to his team's success. It is the same reason that KD and Westbrook finished below Kawhi. When you're the best player on a team that wins 67 games, you're going to be wayyyy up there in the MVP voting.

I dont dislike Leonard. But when I sit and think:

Did he really have the second best season?
Is he really the second best player?
Is he really the second most valuable player in the league?

Which are the 3 different ways people look at the award, my answer is hell no to all 3

We're having a perfectly rational basketball discussion and you go and bring this evil upon us? I'll be back after Boom screws it all up.

Nah, your way is better, let's ignore half the game when making this decision!!!

I love that WS/48 is weird metrics but PER is not. Good stuff.

Look, we should all know how flawed the MVP award is. You could argue that MJ should've won at least 9, Kobe should've won at least 4. Lebron should've won the year they gave it to Rose. The guys voting for this stuff move the goalposts all over the place to justify who they want to give it to.

Sometimes they base it on statistics purely. Often times they want to penalize the best performing player for having good teammates and give it to someone who wasn't as good but had worse teammates. They're all over the place.
