The problem with Vick is if you grab him, it's an instant QB controversy in a lot of cases. People still think Vick is the QB that he was 5 years ago. He's not. He's a bad decision maker who can no longer bail himself out with his athleticism.

Bc you'd have to start him. He's useless as a backup. He doesn't prepare the way a backup QB needs to. If your starter goes down you need someone who can at least run the plays.

I disagree with your premise. Vick is an awful quarterback, and he's no longer a good running back

I know it was the preseason, but he a YPC of 7.0 before getting suspended in 2014. He was looking good again. The hip injury made a HUGE difference on him. You could see he was not even close to healthy in 2013.
