Why don't they call obvious intentional fouls intentional?

The "hack-a-shitty shooter" is legit when you foul him when he has the ball.
When you intentionally foul off the ball they should call it what it is

Because there is no intentional foul anymore. There are flagrants 1 or 2.

Why don't they call it at the end of games when teams are trying to come back?

They should if it's off the ball. Fouling someone when they have the ball is different

Nba refs need to focus on getting simple calls right before we dive into shite like this.

Like calling traveling when players take 10 steps. Every single games has someone taking 5 or 6 steps. Lebron frequently takes 3 giant steps.

to answer the op, the reason is that it's about making money off entertainment. There is no integrity. It's hilarious when anyone talks of integrity in sports.

The definition of flagrant isn't the exact same as intentional.

It isn't necessarily intentional if the other guy has the ball. Maybe you're just going after the ball more aggressively--if you get the ball, great, if not, the foul might work in your favor. It's a good strategy.

For most of the game you don't want to rack up fouls because you'll put the other team in the double bonus and risk having your guys foul out.

You're missing the point. You sub in shitty players to hack the poor FT shooter. They don't care how many fouls they get and they don't care about double bonus. The poor FT shooter will be taking the shots and that's the goal. Each possession starts/ends with this hack throwing up a brick or two. I hate it and wish it was intentional fouls.

Yeah like how in the frick was Dwight Howard not given a flagrant 2 last night and ejected, but Horford was vs the Cavs.
