Why doesn't Southern Cal recruit black QBs?

so many top QBs are black, but they never seem to go to Southern Cal. Now that I think about it, I can't ever think of a Pete Carroll coached team that had a black QB. what's up with that?

Pete prefers a cerebral, thinking QB to a more athletic, has all the physical tools type.

We recruited and signed Rocky Hinds a few years ago. He ended up transferring to UNLV. Really we focus most of our QB recruiting in the Orange County area, and most of Orange County QB's are white.

JDB was from shreveport

the point here is that you can nitpick every single position to anywhere in the country, so why in the hell would you delegate the most important position on the entire team to 1 county in california?

that is stupid if true

i'm pretty sure most coaches want the best QB they can get, not the best QB in the Orange County area.

Orange County is the #1 hotbed for QB's. Palmer, Leinart, Sanchez, Corp, and next is Barkley. All Orange county QB's.

Sure we will go after the top QB's around, it just so happens that many of them are from Orange County. We recruited Jimmy Clausen, and Dayne Crist, both went to ND ( I really thought Crist should have went to LSU) neither were OC guys.

LSU hasn't had any black quarterbacks either so I don't see what the big deal is.

USC runs a pro-style offense which doesn't emphasize athleticism on the part of the QB. If the best pure pocket passer out of high school was black I am sure Carroll would recruit him.
