Why does ULM want Viator?

Is the best they can do is a coach that can't even take his all-time best teams past the first round of the FCS playoffs?

Remember how well it went last time ULM took a coach away from McNeese? Keasler led the Warhawks to a wonderful 8-28 record during his time there.

I have been thinking McNeese needed a new coach for a while because all Viator does is keep his friends employed IMO so I will be glad to see him go but I am just dumbfounded ULM actually wants him.

ULM botched this whole ordeal. They fired their guy with no real plan and no coach with ambition wants the job.

So Viator is a last resort? That makes more sense really.

At least he will still be able to beat ULL but just at a new LA school.

No idea, their president decided he wants to get serious about football without offering any administrational support. I think Berry is a good coach.

Didn't ULL barely beat a horrible 2-11 ULM team this year?

Isn't the all-time series pretty close? I mean no one is clearly in the lead like McNeese over ULL is.

Lance has been trying to move up the coaching tree for a while. I doubt he was ever going to be here for long as an assistant just like his other 3 times being here. I wouldn't mind him being HC. Coming from the mean streets of Welsh teaches a man a thing or two.

The one that will hurt from this is Lark Hebert. Viator has carried him for a long time now out of friendship, and unless he follows Viator to ULM, he may have to go back to the HS ranks.

Maybe he takes a job on the west coast to be closer to his son...you know the one that killed a guy.

I'd take Lance Guidry on our defensive staff if he can stay away from City Bar

Until Bruno hits the streets, no one will want this job. The guy is a complete tool.

No sympathy for someone that was exposed to the slums of Welsh? It's like mini Detroit.

I don't know how ULM will ever be an attractive job unless alumni step up big time. They have to play 4 money games each year just to fund their other sports. They have a yearly recruiting budget around $30,000, when they made a bowl they could hardly afford to feed their players.

ULM just can't afford to have a consistently good athletic dept. They'd be better off dropping football and trying to get serious about basketball -- they already have a legit bball coach.

i dont feel like bruno needs to stop being the president. hes done a really good job overall with the university. he just needs to back off of his athletics high horse.
