It makes the arena look so strange on TV? The place looks tiny and dark. Why do they do this? Is it off putting to anyone else?

Edit for arena not area.

most new arenas have the theater style lighting for the stands, if that is what you are talking about

Don't the Lakers do the same thing? I personally love the way it looks.

Lakers did it first, Clippers followed suit. I like the way it looks. Puts the focus entirely on the court.

I believe, based on my unprofessional experience, that it makes the court look better for TV.

I feel like it would screw me up playing tennis like that, but the players don't seem to mind in London.

I don't know. Rarely see those games here in Chattanooga.

Do they not still do 50 shot of Jack Nicholas per game?

The Grizzlies do it on occasion. I think it looks great, and I wish they did it every game.

It puts me off. Not a fan, but it is a growing trend.

Lakers and Lnicks do the same thing. Stage lighting like a play. Focus is on the game. I like it

It's so the spectators can get an even better look at the jumbotron and all the advertising hoardings around the arena. Thus, it distracts from the game and onto the paid ads. Typical professional sports.
