If I had to go out on a limb, I would guess they are a little chilly and they can always take it off if they get warm.

Base layer matters more imo. If you have dri fit on underneath, a cage jacket isn't hot.

This reminds me of when Les wore that jacket against Auburn even though the Heat Index was over 100

For the look. We had guys wear rain gear in domes because they liked how it looked

Because the ones that wear them are fatties and don't won't to look disgusting on TV in a Polo that shows their excessive fat rolls.
