Why can’t baseball players hit a double and just go to second without celebrating?

College or mlb. Every single time someone hits a double, they get to second, look at the dugout and do some sort of hand/arm celebration.

WHY

This time of year in college baseball I don’t mind it

Now a midweek game in march against southern it’s a little too much

Because playing a game for a living isn't that serious. lighten up.

For the same reason basketball players and football players mug opponents after a big dunk, tackle, run, etc. It’s just part of the game now. I wouldn’t let it bother you too much

well, if they got triples like Otis Nixon did, they might want to check the celebration at the door.

you know cause league officials might think they were hopped up on something.

Wait until you see them flip their bat after a big hit. The horror.

Why can't boomers just ignore a player celebrating instead of getting butthurt?

A lot of doubles do get crushed… if they weren’t they’d probably be singles

In a sport where hitting 30% is good then you better believe I'm celebrating a double
