I already know you're the against the grain edgy kinda fan who would give the MVP to a player on a sub .500 team.

Pelicans might not make playoffs but its misleading to act as if they aren't playing what will translate to over .500 ball on the season. They're 1 game under .500 despite playing 5 more away games than home games. They've also played a very tough schedule. The ball they are playing right now translates to about 45-46 wins IMO. Still not enough to make the playoffs at the level they are playing, but certainly over .500 when the schedule irons itself out.

Did you forget they are in the West?

I did the math. Using the NBA 60.6% home winning percentage, the Pelicans should be at 47% if they were playing .500 ball against other .500 teams and since there opponent's average win % is .524, they would be expected to be at 45% win percentage...... So they are actually playing a little more than half a game better than .500. So stretched over a season that would be 44 wins. Not enough to make the playoffs in the West still.

Do the West play more away games? That's kind of a big deal. Playing 62% of your games on the road is a big deal.

No, but the West plays more games against West teams. They have better records. The average win percentage in the West will be well above .500 this year.

All on teams that either reached the Finals or won 60 games.

AD's team likely won't make the playoffs.

I see the first 7 pages of this thread went about as expected. Rockets fans may be the most defensive group of whiners on this site. They refuse to let any perceived slight go by without bitching about for 4 or 5 pages.

Besides y'all are all arguing over the wrong players:

Marc Gasol for MVP
