John Wall is coming into his own in a big market on an up and coming team. He's definitely marketable.

my thing with him is that it will be his 5th year in the league. Super stars are generally born before that.

He's inconsistent and just had a HORRIBLE playoff series

You're looking at a Joe Johnson type player at best. which isn't bad. Just not a superstar. Good player, boring game. Limited marketability.

Dude he is only 23

2nd in the NBA in assists. One of the best set up guys in the league easily. He is still developing as a scorer in the half court, but is insanely dangerous in the open court.

It was his first playoff experience. He had a monster game in Game 4 or 5.

Depends on where you draw that Superstar line.

If you don't include them already, Kevin Love and Paul George are there.

The next crop will likely be Anthony Davis, Boogie, John Wall; Drummond may see a huge benefit from having a coach that understands how to use a big man-- he's already a mountain of untapped potential.

It was John Walls 4th season, not his 5th. And still just 23years old.

And, like all players, his biggest problems are mentally. Once he gets more mature and a higher bball IQ, he could be the best PG in the NBA and a superstar. Will he? Who knows. But he def could.

which is why i said "it will be his 5th year in the league".

For someone not even on the radar, it will be hard for him to ever be a superstar.

Compared to someone like James Harden. Who is a year older and going into his 6th season. It's getting late, but at least he has some traction. John Wall has none.

Kevin love in LA or a good Boston team would be a superstar.

John Wall is most def on the radar man.

And my bad just glanced over your post and thought it said "it was his 5th season". My bad Lester...

But still... you have no idea what he will do in this 5th year. Hes def on the rise and improving as a player.

And Harden is a way better scorer, no doubt about that. However, John Wall is a great passer and a solid defensive player. He gets after it on both sides of the court.

The answer is easily Anthony Davis and it is not even close. Other top choices are Kevin Love and Steph Curry if they don't count already.

I am not a Pelicans or Kentucky fan, so there is no homerism.

I dont think he is. He could have emerged with a good playoff series, but he was terrible. He might be on your radar, but nationally, naw. He still has a negative stigma attached to him.

I realize that. Scoring is sexy.

I mean I get what you are saying and all that Lester, but John Wall has emerged nationally. Not as a star yet, but hes def on the radar as a potential star. He had a fantastic season and was very much improved. And it was just his 1st time to be in the postseason. He was not efficient, I completely agree right there. But he still was a huge factor for the Wizards getting past the Bulls.

Respectfully disagree.

And yea scoring is sexy... but Wall is just as good or better than Harden is at everything else. Wall is an elite passer in the NBA and better than Harden, just as good or better at rebounding, and is actually a legit defensive player in the NBA. And its not like Harden is way more efficient than Wall is either. He is more efficient, not saying hes not, but its closer than you think.

Wall will definitely not be a Superstar unless he wins multiple championships.

I think people are throwing the phrase Superstar around too liberally.

Its not just being a great player. You also have to be a household name. People who don't give a frick about basketball have to be able to recognize you.

well, you act like Wall took some majestic jump last year, and he didnt. It's gonna be his 5 year, and at this point he pretty much is what he is.

I dont know in what world he would be on the cusp of super stardom. Sorry if that makes me a douche.

When I think of a super star, I think of somebody you can pass the ball to in isolation and they can make something happen.

A star can do that.

A Superstar is on another level. Can completely take over games AND has crossover commercial appeal.

I'd say Black Griffin and CP3 definitely qualify as current superstars.

Cannot get those two frickers off my tv screen when watching any sporting event.
