The Cowboys really are an enigma...they have a loaded roster almost every year, yet they can't win the first playoff game. I don't know if you can blame Dak as much as you blame coaching. Dak definitely has his 'derp' moments, but the play calling is absolutely atrocious in the playoffs. Like, Baltimore in the AFC title game atrocious.

But, I like Baker more than I should. I don't think the guy gets a fair chance. When he is on, he is ON. All he does is find ways to come out on top. When it was him or Carr for New Orleans, I was hoping they would go with Mayfield.

At this point I'd say Mayfield has the larger upside, mostly because we haven't seen much of him after getting hurt with the Browns before this year.

Dak has 72 more TDs in his career and the same number of career INTs

ETA didn’t include the 28 rushing TDs either

@gregauman
Baker Mayfield will have his eighth offensive coordinator in seven NFL seasons in 2024:

2018: Todd Haley, Freddie Kitchens
2019: Todd Monken
2020-21: Alex Van Pelt
2022: Ben McAdoo (Panthers), Liam Coen (Rams)
2023: Dave Canales
2024: ?

Outside of the first browns year and the panthers year, that’s a pretty good group of coaches to start your career with, despite the lack of continuity

And outside of the panthers teams, Bakers always been on talented teams. Those browns teams had legit talent, rams were down bc stafford was down but they are legit, and the Bucs still have a really good roster embering from the Super Bowl runs

Dak is better, but he's also had consistency with coaching and great offensive lines. I like Baker, but I also don't know how many times I've said he's a top 10 QB in this league after the season is over.

I think we’re are really recalculating in hindsight the “disadvantages” Baker had. Those browns teams had awesome Oline talent and running backs and good enough weapons.

His inconsistency, attitude, and turnovers at QB played a very direct hand in the constant changeover in coaches and scenery.

He’s seemed to have matured and become a decent middle of the road QB in a league that severely lacks those, so he’s gonna make a nice living. But this comparison to Dak is utterly insane any which way you slice it, and I’m not some huge Dak fan

First half of that game was unreal, then the Packers gave the 49ers a legitimate scare the next week. Packers should have been in the NFCCG.

Dak. Dak is a clearly better than average NFL starting QB. The only reason he gets so much hate is because he plays for the Cowboys, and because he has a big contract (which is pretty proportional next to what other above average starters are getting).

Baker is a below average starting qb. He’s not terrible, but he’s nowhere near elite. People respect him because he’s a competitor, snd he has been playing for cheap. They also root for him as an underdog because they feel The Browns are a badly run franchise where he was unfairly judged.

But is their roster loaded? Apparently not. They lost to nearly every good team they played. They had two linebackers that got run over. Their safeties are only average and they only have one good defensive tackle.

On offense they had Lamb and Cooks at receiver....and Gallup, lol. Zack Martin has slowed down, the center is average and the right tackle was one of the worst tackles in football. Pollard proved he is not a lead back.

Their personnel is above average maybe but definitely not great.

Baker could be another Plunkett. Languish away and then get with the right coach and boom!

Just ask yourself this...could Dak have gone to an 0-16 Browns franchise...survive Hue Jackson, Freddie Kitchens and Matt Rhule as HC's...survive and then land on his feet and take his team to an NFC division title??? I will take Baker Mayfield any day of the week on my team. He is the most criminally underrated QB in the NFL. Give that man some dam comsistency with coaching and then judge him. Look how good he did with McVay in LA!!

Dak is definitely better, this isn't even a real question.

Baker is Minshew.

Baker is in the Carr, Geno, Russ category.

Dak is in the Herbert, Cousins, Rodgers category just behind the true studs.

Remember when the saints had a shot to bring Baker in but passed on him for Carr? HA

Dak easy. Baker’s best year is arguably barely on par with Dak’s worst year. Dak is also a massive overachiever as a 4th rd pick vs Baker being the 1st pick in the Draft.
