I keep hearing the weak 10 is the best how ever simple math disagrees, I added up each conferences records from the best to worst team and shocking results. Rankings based on simple winning%. 1.sec at 59% 2. Acc58% 3. Big 12 57% 4. Weak 10 56.5% 5. Pac 12 55.5%. So what exactly am I missing, how is the big 10 the best?

Who knows. CFB is very mediocre this year.

SEC is much better top to bottom. Big 10 is significantly better at the top.

It's big 10 this year. More then likely the 2nd best sec team is going to have 4 losses. Hell if Clemson loses big 10 could have 3 teams in the top 5.

I wish all the good players would stop going to one school, so cfb could be fun again

I don't disagree at all. There's 4-6 really good teams and it's a pile of garbage after that. Colorado never felt like a top 10 caliber team to me. Same thing with Penn State. Even if they beat Wisconsin tomorrow, I still don't think they're that good.

Yeah, Bama has ruined CFB for me this year. It's basically a foregone conclusion that they'll win it all.

Depends what site you look at.

Sagarin has it
1 SEC-WEST (A) = 83.67 84.56 ( 1) 7 83.98 ( 1)
2 PAC-12(NORTH) (A) = 78.88 79.46 ( 2) 6 79.20 ( 2)
3 BIG TEN-EAST (A) = 77.93 78.52 ( 3) 7 77.95 ( 3)
4 PAC-12(SOUTH) (A) = 77.72 77.55 ( 4) 6 77.60 ( 4)
5 ACC-COASTAL (A) = 77.43 76.29 ( 6) 7 76.70 ( 6)
6 ACC-ATLANTIC (A) = 76.96 77.41 ( 5) 7 77.16 ( 5)
7 BIG 12 (A) = 76.73 76.16 ( 7) 10 76.53 ( 7)
8 BIG TEN-WEST (A) = 75.51 74.77 ( 8) 7 75.32 ( 8)
9 SEC-EAST (A) = 73.04 73.45 ( 9) 7 73.33 ( 9)

Massey Composite has it

1. SEC
2. Pac-12
3. ACC
4. Big 10
5. Big 12

Wouldn't that make it harder to win games if the conference is much better and much easier for a few good teams to easily punish weak opponents.

Throw out rankings, they are man made bs . Look just at the work performed wins and losses, the only thing that really matters.

Bama is incredible, Clemson has potential, that's about it. I don't even think OSU is that great this year.

Another thing to consider is the SEC only plays 8 conference games compared to the other leagues playing 9. Historically the Sec teams will all have "potentially" 1 more win than half of the other teams in a given conference.

Most computer metrics have the SEC at #1. Look at the Massey Composite, and you'll see that the SEC's worst team is ranked significantly above four B1G teams. It's easy to overlook that.

To hint at two playoff teams, the SEC West's worst team, Mississippi State, is #59. Four of the B1G East's seven teams are ranked below that.

Not all wins and losses are the same.

This is also pretty funny coming from you.

Have to disagree here. Stats are one thing, but the SEC has not been good this year. Its basically BAMA and everybody else. Ive readily admitted that the SEC has been the best conference year in and year out over the last 10 years. Any objective fan that watches football knows that. This year has been a different story.

The SEC has the best overall record and has set a record for most bowl eligible teams (11). It's one of the best years the SEC has ever had.

Exactly. People can't see past the fact that there's not a great 2nd team, and can't really grasp that 2-11 are all pretty good. Kentucky is going to a bowl for God's sake. Vandy had a nice win or 2. There aren't the typical auto wins this year like there are in the Big 10. Like I said earlier, the Big 10 was clearly better at the top this year, while the SEC was clearly bette top to bottom. How much you value each is up to you. But to dismiss the SEC strictly because their #2 may have 4 losses is lazy.
