Looking at Bali Hai since it is on the strip. Any other suggestions?

What's your hdcp and your budget?

Handicap is Eight. Cost doesn't matter, it's vacation.
Thanks for the link, bud, but I was looking for more personal experiences.

Will you have a car? That will greatly expand your options. I go out to Vegas every summer to play golf for a week so I'm pretty familiar with the courses in the area.

I didn't plan on getting a car. Everything else we are doing is on the strip.

Unless you're talking Putt-Putt, I don't know of many 'good' courses, besides Bali Hai, ON the Strip.

Bali Hai was awesome the one time I've played it. You can find some good deals if you're willing to wait on tee times or play later in the day. Empty also. Played in 3 hours

Bali Hai is CRAZY expensive. Because they know they have you. It is on the Strip. 5 dollar cab ride to get there so they charge more. Everything else is a 20-45 minute cab ride. So the money you save going to other courses in green fees is spent on cabs or renting a car.
That being said I have played Bear's Best. Jack Nicklaus courses. It takes the best holes from all of his courses. It was awesome. Two holes have black sand bunkers. He brought in volcanic black sand from one of his courses (can't remember where from). Putting was a bitch. But in a cool way. The greens were "rolling a 13" as the forecaddie told me. Stemp meter. As close as I will ever come to pro putting conditions.
Also played Rio Secco. Butch Harmons course. It was great also. Not as good as Bears but still great.

I settled on Bali Hai. Factoring cab ride or renting a car for that day I didn't think the $169 I payed was bad at all.
I've seen it a number of times while on the strip but I'm looking forward to playing it.

The golf industry in general, but especially in Vegas is in deep trouble. I played Bali Hi for 100 in march and the place was totally empty

I don't even think there are any other courses ON the strip besides that one.
P.S. who the hell goes to Vegas with the intent of playing golf and not making arrangements for transportation?

The old dessert inn course is just off the strip, but it's pretty average

you are right. Bali Hai like everything in Vegas during good times is WAY inflated. Good to know how much cheaper it has gotten. will be bringing the clubs next time.

I have played Shadow Creek and Southern Highlands. They are not cheap but If you can get the chance to play either DO IT.... Two of the best courses that I have EVER played along with Old Memorial and Augusta ...

If you play Bali Hai, be sure to eat at Cili, very good and slightly expensive, it also owned by Billy Walters.
If looking for a bargain price course, Badlands isn't too bad, but not on par with Bali Hai, Shadow Creek,etc..
Live it up!

Siena and Arroyo are nice, but way off the strip by Red Rock.
