- For the British Amateur, Jones had to win 8 consecutive 18-hole match-play contests. Then, he had to play a 36 hole match-play final. He won it 7 and 6.

- Jones then had to win the British Open the week after playing nine matches in the British Amateur.

- He won the U.S. Amateur with two stroke-play qualifying rounds, two 18 hole match-play contests, and three 36 hole match-play contests. He won the finals match 8 and 7.

Not bashing Bobby Jones, but it's not like playing all that match play was some unheard of event back then.
All of them did that

3 other golfers actually won 3 majors in a year

Hell Hogan won 18 times in a season, with 11 straight wins

Tiger won 9 times in 2000, with three major wins, by a combined 20 strokes

That's fine and all, but it's all a matter of opinion. All of their years were great, even Jordan Spieth. But I think you're really fricking retarded if you think it's laughable. It's actually an interesting topic to argue about.

I said it was laughable because you said, "Spieths year was the greatest in History, No Question."

he'd have zero argument ... tiger won 3 majors and 9/20 tournaments, plus 6 in a row at one point, and finished T5 in the masters ...

are you talking about just majors? Or total season? jordan currently has 2 majors and 4 total wins this year but still has a few more tournaments to play. if he stays with 4 wins, would you consider a 5 win, 2 major season better than his? If so, jordan wouldn't even have a top 10 season.

I think people need to read up on tigers 2000 season. If Jordan's season was second it was not really a close second. I don't really even care about tiger but what he did in 2000 was amazing.

Tiger won a major, at one of the toughest courses in recent golf history by 15 stokes > than anything Spieth has done this year

This I won't argue... 15 stroke is 15 strokes no matter the competition..........

The Spieth love on this board is retarded. He's really freaking good, but people treat him like their hero.

Well Spieth this year he had the lowest total score under par in all 4 majors ever,

That's pretty good.........

He was unbelievable. Spieth's year this year was the greatest year in golf history. No question.

Sorry dude....But what Tiger did in 2000 changed the game of golf for todays generation. There may not even be a Spieth if it wasn't for what Tiger did in 2000... That makes Tigers year better... Its not all about stats......
