nope. His advanced numbers (since I know you are a big fan) get him in the conversation but that's about it TBH.

MVP is a regular season award .
And Lebron is better and more valuable in the regular season too

If it is most valuable, it is not Lebron, he has Kyrie and Love and a championship type bench, it would be more like an Anthony Davis (before cousins trade)

Sounds like it's a couple of preferred metrics of yours then

I combine all of them. No one advanced metric stands on its own as end all be all.

And Boom will ignore that Westbrook is not just 1st in this position, but worlds above everyone else.

VORP:
Westbrook 9.0 (27% higher than Harden who is next closest, 61% over third place).

Box +/-:

Westbrook +14.3 (42% higher than Harden who is next closest, and 59% higher than third place).

But of course it is clear that Harden is better, right?

Nothing, as he will likely be voted 4th this year......

I think at this point in his career, he will get what I believe some people would call the Kareem treatment.

Westbrooks team has a minus net rating. If you aren't even a winning team net rating wise You are disqualified. Even if you get the net rating up over 0 you got a ways to go to be MVP worthy.

I just gotta ask you this. Who is the best player in the NBA in your opinion?

Lebron. But that don't make him MVP.

So the fact his team has a minus net rating but is still on pace for 46 wins and a playoff spot in the freaking Western conference invalidates his claim?

That fact alone should explain how much he is carrying their asses.

Lebron's value has nothing to do with who his teammates are. Switch him and Davis and you're telling me the Pels have 25 wins right now? You're essentially saying the MVP award should go to the person who's front office does a terrible job putting talent around them. That's absurd.

Yes. MVP don't go to a player off a middling team. Gotta be an elite team.

According to who? Playoff team does not equal middling. Especially in the West.

You love to shift your argument when it suits you. Let me guess, when the Rockets were the 8th seed last year, you felt Harden should've won the MVP, right?

Harden didn't deserve MVP last year.

And there will be western conference playoff teams well below .500. Okc is 7th out of 15 teams. No team below them has a winning record. They are the very definition of middling. Can't believe you argued against it.
