I agree. I feel Charlie is the type if guy that will tell you the truth about something and lay it out logically without the Pirple and Gold bias. I value Hannigrif more so than the other sport wannabes.
I remember Bruce Hunter back in '95 ? Always a tease without any substance. Did Hunter get fired ? Haven't heard about him since he wrote a couple of LSU books.

Charlie is prob the best local guy and I could listen to him talk about LSU sports for hours on end
Most people seem to like him which seems like an incredible task for a sports radio guy, let alone one affiliated with LSU, to pull off

I like Charlie. I dont like his mid day show because of Ott, but I think Charlie is very good at PBP in baseball and I think he compliments Hawthorne well.

Hanagriff is without a doubt the most knowledgeable sportswise of the BR radio guys but he's definitely not the most entertaining. Still, I'd rather listen to someone who relies on facts than someone who just tries to shove their opinions at me over and over and over and over and over. Opinions are for the callers to make.

This. I remember all the talk show hosts going legit tard during the coaching search after Hallman was fired. Broadhead was beating the drum for Forrest Gregg and Timmy B was swearing it would be Jimmy Johnson. Also rember wondering why this homeless man was interviewing me and my friends before the LSU - Duke basketball game, it turns out it was Songie.

Charlie and Ott go way back. They did a show together in the early to mid 90's. They had a super hick accent dude on there with them.

Charlie is the best in BR IMO. Nice guy. Approaches his commentary and opinions from a normal fan perspective. Always find myself agreeing with him.

Hunt Palmer is up there with Hanagriff. Both knowledgable and are able to call it a spade when needed

Don't get me wrong, I like Hanagriff, but Charlie at his very BEST doing play-by-play would only be slightly better than Jim Hawthorne at his very worst (which has been for the last few years).
When Hawthorne was at his best, he was unrivaled in the SEC, especially in basketball. Hawthorne is NOT at his best now.
