Right on cue, Martin Perez has been called up and will pitch Saturday vs the Cardinals. Tepesch will now pitch on Sunday and Darvish has been moved to Tuesday.
Sucks for ESPN and Sunday night baseball as it would've been Darvish vs Wainwright.
ETA Linblom has been optioned to AAA. He wasn't bad today but someone had to go down.

I imagine Rangers fans are kinda upset they gave up on Davis so soon, his bat in middle of that line up and that park would be devastating
Davis' season this year is a complete shock. If Mitch was not doing well (finally learning to take pitches the opposite way) I would really be .

Oh great. So the Rangers best hope is Holland tomorrow night (Lyons is probably the weakest link in the Cards starting rotation).
Miller and Wainwright would be hard enough to beat if Holland and Yu were the opposing starters.
Message from my STL native SO: enjoy the Oakland wins while you can.

Don't do that to me.
I won't. My favorite west coast team is Seattle, only because I would like to visit it some day.

Moreland is back as well. I still believe this is going to a good series and in the long run will be nowhere near as important as that Oakland series.

I am not sure a change of scenery is what he needed as much as maturity. I think him switching hitting coaches helped (but haven't the Rangers switched coaches?) and just becoming the hitter everyone thought he would be after his rookie year

The main thing about the change of scenery was he got a lot more playing time in Bal. The Rangers were in the midst of another WS run and frankly could not wait on a guy hitting below .250 and striking out at a record pace.
Everyone knew he had the potential but he was always seen as a AAAA guy during his time in Texas and the Rangers didn't have the time to wait for him to figure it out.

Come on 2011 Moreland was only hitting 9 points higher in like 300 more AB and Cruz is like a .260 hitter. They could have given him more at bats but fact is they just gave up on him at 25 thinking he would never be more than a AAAA guy.
Of course that was same year Napoli actually tore it up and Rangers had Torrealba hitting at catcher so you could say they didn't have the room at the time.

Strikeouts were one of the main factors. You can tolerate strikeouts if the player is still hitting, but Davis wasn't really doing that. Moreland's high in strikeouts were 2011 with 92 in 464 AB. Davis in 2009 had 150 with 70 less ABs. Davis has elite defense and elite power, but Moreland isn't too far behind.
And like you said, Napoli was playing more and more at first and with Moreland basically doing the same thing as Davis with less strikeouts and being the same age meant that Davis was expendable.
ETA And Moreland could've been traded, but I believe Davis was still thought of as a respected prospect and could get a bigger return (Koji).

frick..I was in the Bahamas when this thread was created. No fricks have been given.
In all seriousness, this is typical Q man shite. I'm not taking the bait.
This team hasn't hit, has a ton of injuries, very questionable managing and lost some good players from last year's team....and it's one game out and are nine games over .500.
You know Daniels will make a big time acquistion at the dead line and we will have a healthy and fresh rotation and bullpen when everybody gets back.
So while everybody is breaking down, we will be fresh.
I think the Rangers will be fine. I look for them to make a run to the postseason.
That is all.

How do you think he goes about this? Is Profar going away?
Posted on 6/21/13 at 12:29 pm to TK421
Depends on who's on the block.

Only for a big time bat. Like a Stanton type player.
If they go after Cliff Lee they won't have to give up Profar. Even a player like Carlos Gonzales might not take Profar (because Col doesn't need a SS), but the Rockies would have to start losing a lot more to trade him.

I see the rangers dealing probar for henry blanco.
Posted on 6/21/13 at 1:14 pm to DrVinnyBoombatz
Cliff Lee has a no trade clause, and Texas is one of the few teams listed. I don't think he wants back in Arlington, for whatever reason.

Honestly, it's probably the wife. Do not expect the Rangers to go after Price, mainly because TB won't deal him during the season and there is a 90% chance he can be had in free agency.
Another pitching name to keep an eye on would be Hisashi Iwakuma, but it might be expensive to pry him from Seattle.

And cargo absolutely takes profar
Posted on 6/21/13 at 1:22 pm to lsu31always
You would think. Col has Tulowitzki and I'm not positive who they have a 2nd. More than likely, yes Profar would be included.
