One was on video one the pictures came out later. Neither deserves to play in NFL.

They should both be in jail.. You lay your hands on a women you're a piece of shite.

Throw in Jose Reyes to the list that all 3 should be banned forever.. Makes me sick.

As much as you hate it, there were no charges filed against Ray, and Greg's case was settled. They're free to do as they please as free men, regardless of what they did.

The difference is the Cowboys didn't need a RB bad enough.

Sure, but that's not the point. Or at least it shouldn't be.

Pointless thread is pointless.

The cowboys have made it clear from the top down that greg hardy isn't going anywhere.

Both of their legal records are completely clean.

What they both did us horrible, but why shouldn't they be allowed a second chance? Especially if they still have a valuable skill set?

Hardy was essentially suspended a full season.

I don't understand why people give a shite about what these players do off the field.

The patriots undermined the integrity of at least 3 seasons, and people whined that their penalties were to harsh.

I agree both should be in jail. But the way it works in the NFL, if you can play great, you can go without punishment for almost anything. They'll find a fall guy for you or pay off your victims, if you can be a star for them.

Ray rice wasn't a star anymore. But Greg Hardy can be still. Big Ben is, even after his sexual assault cases. Ray Lewis survived his murder case bc they found a fall guy for him. Adrian Peterson abused his kid and he's playing. Mike Vick was back as soon as his jail time ended. I can go on and on. If you can play at a high level, the NFL will keep you in there, regardless of what you did

And I know Aaron Hernandez is in jail now, but I'm pretty sure it's because the Patriots didn't care enough to keep him. He was good but not great, and his past record really hurt him. Plus he didn't have a fall guy like other players have had

I hate the NFL as much as the next guy, but to act like this shite is unique to the league is disingenuous at best.

Replace Hardy with almost any other professional who is elite in their field and the results would be the same. Lots of people are abusive scumbags but they continue to work and move up the corporate ladder if they're good enough.

That is the difference between Hardy and Rice - one was replaceable and one wasn't.

You would think that, but I'm trying to compare it to the NBA and MLB right now and I don't think I've suspected either of those leagues of doing what the NFL does. I could be wrong, but I have trouble recalling any incidents like Ray Rice, Hardy, etc in the NBA. Could be star NBA players commit fewer crimes though

Edit: # of players in each league may also account for some of the differences (NFL much larger). But MLB and NFL are fairly similar in size

The difference is Hardy can still play at a high level. RBs are a dime a dozen so why bother taking an aging RB with baggage when u can have an UDFA for cheap with no guaranteed $.

Hardy is worse because he threw her on a bed of assault rifles.

Although I do agree for both of these situations, there are certainly examples where you may need to use physical force against a woman in order to save your own life

This. If you can contribute to an NFL team you'll alwyas have a spot. Rice isn't good enough at this point to take on the massive headache he'd cause. Hardy is, at least in Jerry's mind.
