They need to blow the whole thing up by any means necessary, make all players available except Paul to anyone and everyone

I would also try to keep Wright and Armstrong since they are of decent value.

Ok I like Wright but please explain what Armstrong has shown to give you any hope. The guy has been in the league for three years and is still incredibly soft. He constantly gets the ball ripped out of his hands, makes weak passes, can't rebound, gets backed down by virtually everyone who tries, and can't finish even when he gets a much smaller defender on him off of a switch.

He is young, big, cheap, and I think they can still turn him into a decent player. I am not saying he is a stud just that I would possibly hang on to him and Wright because they are cheap and I still think they have upside. Everyone else on the team besides Paul can go IMO.

I agree with most of your points except for a few

quote:

CP3 and Dwest played their hearts out just to get us into the playoffs, logging way too many minutes, but we just could not afford to not play them or else we'd lose.

West may have played hard to get us in the playoffs, but he decided to not play defense at all in the playoffs. I can't count the number of times people drove around him, and he just watched them go dunk. Last night was the first time I saw him be aggressive and take it to the rack on offense. Before last night, he looked like he was scared to get touched which is not what you want from a power forward.

quote:

antonio daniels? Rasual butler? james Posey? Mo pete? Why can't these players reliably give minutes off the bench and not let the score get out of hand before we have to return our starters?

Butler is a starter, and Posey logs pretty good minutes. I would like to know what happened with Mo Pete this year. He went from starting last year to not playing at all this season. I know he was hurt at one point, but to go from starting to not in the rotation makes zero sense.

I agree with all your points about starters playing too much. I think the main reason our bench is unreliable is because players dont know their role. My main problem with Byron Scott is that we are in the playoffs, and he still hasn't found a rotation. Guys like Armstrong and Wright may start one night, and not play the next. It is hard to consistently contribute when you can't figure out your role.

If I was the gm, I would try to trade:
David West
Peja
Julian Wright
to the bulls for:
Hinrich
Tyrus Thomas
Tim Thomas

I am not sure if they would take it, but I think they would at least consider it because it would give them a legitimate all star post scorer.
Hinrich and Tyrus would give us a much better defensive presence, and I think Paul would make them both better. Tim Thomas is another $6 million that would come off the cap after the 2010 season.

Not sure they would take the deal, but it would be my first call and offer.

As much as I would want them to, there is no way in hell the bulls take that trade.

The way I see it, the Hornets bench is not that bad, they didn't look very good against the Nuggets but not many NBA teams have a bench that can consistently compete with Denver's. Plus, if you don't live in or near Denver you can't understand how badly the Nuggets wanted to finally get out of the first round of the playoffs, New Orleans was in the wrong place at the wrong time. The Hornets are going through a similar type of fan backlash that the Nuggets faced last year after being beat down in the playoffs, everyone wanted the whole team replaced, or at least Carmelo, as if the league is full of players with his ability. Don't get me wrong, New Orleans need to make a few changes but not a complete overhaul. My biggest concern would be how much the organization is willing and or able to spend on free agents, and find someone who can run the point and give CP3 a break.

whats more troubling is that we will get another late round draft pick, somewhere between 18-22 id imagine.... draft some halfway decent player who probaly needs development but won't see action for 2 years, then maybe play 12 minutes a game the third year, then get traded =(
