You are correct in some respects. We are landlocked in very expensive real estate. We don't have vast, open cheap dirt to use to construct facilities. And yet we currently have quality facilities on a magnificent campus with an extraordinary academic opportunity. On top of at, our most recent Pac12 TV deal, and league expansion has provided us with sufficient funds to pay to compete for the best coach and assistants in the country, and a $50,000,000 football only training facility is underway. I agree we will have something nicer to show recruits in three years. In the meantime, we are going to do very well, especially with some of those Louisiana, Alabama and Texas guys on our roster docking up the Cali sun.

I suspect you don't really know anything about SoCal, but would you please post the name of the restaurant where the girls walk around nude all the time? I have some free time tomorrow!

I agree with your point, but the class rankings haven't proven to matter at all since Cade McNown left school. The coaches were bad and they didn't develop the players, for the most part. On NSD we would have scholies that had not been accepted by anyone, even the two stars and three stars that we regularly offered.

Plus, most young guys your age, grew up while UCLA was dormant, not knowing they once were a stout program under Terry Donahue
Dick Vermeil before him and Tommy Prothro.
I remember Saturdays in late November being glued to the TV watching Michigan Ohio State followed by USC-UCLA. Didn't have 200 games on each weekend... Had usually TWO!

And to kids, that is important! But if you look in the past, there were years when USC was down and UCLA was the place to be- goes in cycles, especially after all the USC scandals and probation over the last few years.

Since my HS days, I have always thought the two best unis in college football were LSU's and UCLA's. Love those powder blues and shoulder stripes.

Just waiting for the obligatory ole miss or Clemson recruiting reference :

"Oh, they are paying them! No one is allowed to commit from out of state unless it is the sec. They must be paying recruits."

USC is no longer a school without academic creds. I still hate the school, and I think anybody, athlete or scholar, that chooses to go to USC has made a very poor life's decision, but you have to give them props for the academic strides they have made in 20 years. Still, they are not UCLA, CAL, or STANFORD.

I feel the same about gutty little bruins.

You are actually correct. We are not those three schools.

Expect us to pass the UC schools in the coming decade.

Stanford is Stanford.

Check out Kirk reppin' up for the gutties. Well done, mate. Mora is a great coach, and y'all are lucky to have him. Huge upgrade over Dorrell (Karl, not Jessica) and Neuheisel (although CRN is a damned fine analyst on P12 Network.)

I do feel however that the football renaissance in Westweird has seen its zenith, and your success is going to flat-line and plummet as soon as SC can field a full complement of players again.

ucla will always be a basketball school first, and two wins in the dark depths of USC's nzaa sanctions isn't going to change that.

See you on November 22nd in Pasadena.

I have, several times, and I think the beauty of the campus is accentuated by the God awful backdrop of the concrete jungle, but I guess that's not unique to Los Angeles.
