Have planned a guys night out to the Braves game tonight 11 rows behind 3rd base dugout. Wife was happy for me to go since I rarely get guys nights.

Wife texted me today that her brothers wife just went into labor and sounds like she will give birth by dinner time up the street in Marietta. Wife tells me " you can still go to the game. It's up to you." Her parents just drove up today from Florida.

Possibly relevant information: I just spent a week on a cruise with her whole family (except the pregnant woman).

I don't like this situation at all.

Sports or happy wife?

Wife unfortunately imo.

Although Ozzie and Sims are debuting so I would probably find a way to get to the game if I was in your shoes.

Game. It's not YOUR wife that is in labor. You will see the kid at some point, and the parents will probably be happier not being surrounded by so many people.

i mean does it seem like she wants you to go? if so you can always have another guys night at the game. whether this year or next. it sucks, but you probably dont want to upset the person you end up sharing a bed with. besides you probably will get points to use down the road whenever you dont want to do something

if she really doenst care then yea, go to the game

I have reversed course as I think about it.

No chance I'm missing Ozzie's debut if I'm in your shoes.

One day you can tell your niece/nephew you saw the GOAT 2B make his major league debut.

They will not care if you were there for their birth.

You're wife's brother's wife?

Why would you go to that?

Depends on the type of girl. For a lot of women this really does not mean it's up to you. It means, it's up to you how much trouble you want to get in

Just been my experience that usually when they throw that shite in there, it's a test and you are much better off just biting the bullet and going through with whatever it is they want to do

her brothers wife

That's like a double in-law. You wouldn't miss you sister or her sister giving birth, but a brother's wife you can skip out on and show up tomorrow once the initial rush of 75 family members has paraded through there tonight.

Is this their first child? That's going to make it a little different. My wife's water broke late on a Friday night with our firstborn, and didn't give birth until Saturday evening. She really didn't even go into labor until Saturday morning. It being a weekend, every family member with a car within a 3 hour radius descended upon the hospital. After a few tried to come back to see us while she was in labor I had to get my Dad to act like a bouncer and tell them they had no business in there. I'm sure your wife's brother's wife would appreciate you staying away.
