I say last year based on facts it was the Pac12, this year it is between the Big10 and SEC. Looking forward to some unbiased discussion.

Last year IMO it was probably the Pac-12 by a hair. This year, it's the SEC and it's not really that close IMO.

Pollack and Jesse were making a good case for the Pac 12 last night for this year.

I always judge the strength of a conference from middle out, as top teams seem to sway it too much. Being top heavy does not mean its a great conference, as those teams usually and generally win in any situation.

What's your argument for this? SEC teams have lost to some no names this year. Outside the top 3-4, the SEC is struggling imo.

Actually right now I might lean to the Big 12
TCU
Okla St
Baylor
OU

I would take those over SEC and Big Ten top four right now

I think the Pac-12 is good this year, but I don't think they're as good as they were last year. Utah and Stanford are great, but UCLA, Wazzu, UW, and the Arizona schools are good but inconsistent. Oregon has taken a huge step back, and USC is a dumpster fire. It also doesn't help that they only have 3 ranked teams (UCLA will replace Cal in the rankings on Sunday).

I think the SEC, especially the West, is still very strong, seeing as how Bama, Florida and LSU look great while there are good teams flying under the radar in State and Kentucky. I still think Ole Miss is a really good team, they're just not healthy right now, and they lost to a good Memphis team playing their super bowl. South Carolina, Vandy and now Georgia are officially done.

I think the Big Ten looks better than in recent years, but again, their middle and lower tier teams are awful. It also doesn't help that Ohio State and Michigan State have looked extremely underwhelming compared to their preseason expectations. And I have no idea what to think about Iowa other than the fact I think they'd get obliterated by a middle tier SEC team on a neutral field, and likely will come bowl season.

ETA -- I'd throw the Big 12 in there as well. Between Baylor, TCU, Oklahoma, Tech and OSU, they're playing some really good football right now.

They are good not great. I don't think either would win against LSU, Bama, OSU, Baylor, TCU or Clemson

I'll give you Stanford, but Utah is a great team. They're great in the trenches and have a great ground game, and they're the only other team besides Stanford in the Pac-12 who plays physical football. They obliterated Oregon and Cal.

That win over Michigan is looking more impressive each week.

What? How did you gather any of those things? You just listed the top 4 teams and put unsubstantiated > signs towards the SEC. None of it is actually supported by whats happened on the field.

LSU is better than TCU like Ole Miss was better than TCU last year.

I'll give you Bama over Baylor.

UF is not better than OU. Coming from a team that has played both.

Lol at Having Ole Miss over any undefeated power five team.

If Clemson doesn't win it all, the only thing I want to see is Baylor playing Bama in the National Championship game. That D that Chad Kelly casually diced up on the road against Baylor's O?

Lolololol, would be hysterical to watch.
